David, can you explain more to me about the whole tongues thing? I grew up in a charismatic environment for 12 years and I did "tongues" but then after I got saved (whenever it was, I personally believe it was this year) tongues went away. I honestly don't want that gift but would rather have whatever God wants to give me. I've said so many things about tongues in the past. And I just want to rest in the truth of Jesus. Basically when I hear tongues I get in a weird way because of bad doctrine and bad experience in the charismatic religion.

That is exactly why we should focus on the fact that there is a big difference between religion and true faith. Religion is evil and leads to people getting hurt. True faith means following Jesus commandments. Jesus said: love one another. Give your enemies food and drink. He was showing that we should act with love, not act with hate. People who hate on other people, are not true followers of Christ. They are against Jesus and give faith a bad name. But thankfully it is not too late, those who are against Christ now, can still change their mind, and start to follow Christ. There is no shame in coming to Christ later in life. All of heaven rejoices when someone choses to serve Love (God is Love according to apostel John, who was a buddy of Jesus) and stand up against hate. May you be guided by Love, blessings!
