It is a criminal offense that this video isn't viewed by more people, especially with people who love cinema. Edgar is a modern cinematic genius. Listening to him you get the impression that he not only knows his craft but loves and lives by it. Truly a legend.

I’m trying to get into filmmaking (just submitted a script to BBC Writersroom), and I viewed Edgar’s course and found it super insightful. I’m going to try and make some short films and write more scripts. Hopefully get an agent and really pursue this fully before the end of the year.

Edgar Wright is personally my filmmaker hero as I admire his storytelling, humour, and especially his unique editing style and Camera Quick Cuts.

His movies are just so much damn fun to watch, all for their own unique reasons. Seeing Hot Fuzz in theaters was such a rad time.

You watched the shit out of it? That sounds like it should have been a line out of Hot Fuzz. Probably said by Nick Frost. An awesome and underrated movie indeed

I really like his take on films, and music in films. How many times have you heard a song and thought "this would be great, in a movie" I've been into foreign music, for 20 or 30 years now, and know; this will never be in a film, but you could, do it this way. I don't speak any other languages, but really love many of these songs, that evoke a certain feeling, from them. Two that come to mind; 'As if you were mine' by Jo Sung Mo (really one of the saddest songs I've ever heard) and the other being; 'Plastic Love' originally by Mariya Takeuchi, in 1985, but covered by hundreds of people since then (and the song that launched an entire genre; 'City Pop')

Edgar Wright is an absolute legend when it comes to engaged filmmaking. Listening to him gush over the filmmaking process only makes me more intrigued in him. I mean, after all, if you're a director that isn't enjoying the problem solving aspect of filmmaking then what are you doing? I mean think about this: He sent out an e-mail to every actor from _Scott Pilgrim_ to reprise their role to play their characters for the new Netflix Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime. All of them basically said "Yes!" within not days, not weeks, but 3 HOURS of him sending that. That tells you how much he's regarded to work with in the film industry. He's definitely the biggest inspiration for me as an editor. I loved his concept of using sound to be a prominent voice in the editing process. Sound is essentially 50% of the film to make known! Timing scenes to the beat of the background music like with _Baby Driver_ or using seemingly random sounds (at first if you don't know his directing/editing style) match with the situations happening in the scenes of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World . That is what I strive for because it's so fun and engaging to watch. I want to entertain people in the same way that Edgar Wright does.

how did Edgar do the garage building shot from the bottom of the street and then zoom up vertically 10 floors where the car chase was in full effect inside the 10th floor of the garage was that CGI or real -- that has gotta be one of the best action scenes I've seen in cinematic history. I would say on par with the car chasing in the French connection. Where they broke all kinds of laws of course no one got arrested😂
