Robert Farrer tom Jones is not a blues musician. That is an insult to blues music as a whole.

Strictly speaking, both musicians can perform music that is blues influenced. But neither of them make it a practice to perform primarily actual blues. At least, not the same as the three Kings, B.B, Albert, and Freddie, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy and so on. Both Tom jones and Steve Cropper, to my way of thinking, are both more related to popular music. They are both excellent musicians, and each able to perform a wide range of musical styles very well. And there is no question that both performers have worked with a panoply of musicians and do that both very professionally and in a very entertaining way!

Love this song, we was in BB Kings in Nashville and met a guy called Steve, his buddy told us he played with the Blues Brothers, anyway had a good chat and few drinks with him and his buddies, then he had to leave. We asked for our check and was told Steve had paid, it wasn’t till afterwards I found it was Steve ‘the colonel’ Cropper we had spent the evening with. Really want to get back to Nashville and thank him personally and buy him a drink.

NICE TO SEE BOOKER T SITTIN AT THE HAMMOND AS HE WALKS ON STAGE TO JOIN THE LEGENDARY STEVE "THE COLONEL" CROPPER. TOMS VOICE IS STILL AWSOME BUT STEVE CROPPERS PHRASING STIRS MY SOUL. THAT MANS PLAYING IS JUST MYSTICAL EVEN IN ITS SIMPLEST FORM. AWSOME PAIRING!!

Absolutely; so many classics by B T & MG's Try 'You keep me hanging on' for starters' from the album 'Doin' our Thing' as an introduction. If you're a cricket fan, think about the theme to 'Test Match Special' and there's another example from the most wonderful blues /soul instrumentalists of the popular music era.

Tom remains a great stylist, though he has lost a little pitch-wise. Steve Cropper is a consummate guitarist/writer/ accompanist. Steve had to adjust his accompanment and time to Tom phrasing (which he did and seamlessly) Old pros.
