Ofc they have a double standard. It’s necessary. Some nations and peoples are more similar than others and hence integrate easier. Countries have to consider such things if they want to preserve their identity and culture. The smaller a nation is, the more delicate these things are and the more effect such things have. This is only common sense. Where is the criticism for the wealthy non-Western nations for not taking in refugees that are their closely related brothers and cousins though? That is the real question? Smh. Your agenda is transparent and your double standards are ridiculous.

Whereas the Syrians are Muslim and this typically rigidly governs the way they live. In short, they will just live on estates with other Muslims and never really "join us". First of All, Greetings for Brothers in Denmark from Poland - You're a True Ally and Friend - Baltic Sea Region will never forget Your Support. Having Said That. I remember 2014 invasion of Crimea. Most of the Victims (almost 2 million) escaped to Poland. Of course they were not declared refugees because Poland couldn't afford giving the refugee status for 2 million people...and that was fine for the EU. Why? 1. The EU and Ger-Money, France didn't want those Ukrainians escaping the genocide because they were getting extremely cheap gas from Russia(and they didn't want to annoy Putler) - just like Oil for Americans in Iraq similar ethics. 2. The EU wanted Poland to take so called refugees from Syria and around and at the same time they treated Ukrainians like SubHumans. They didn't get the same treatment. And Again that was fine For Ger-Money. 3. Poland and few other countries couldn't accept those double standards. It seemed that if You were Ukrainian and Russians bombs were killing You...well we don't care. Money Follow the Money.... 4. Even before the 2022 War Poland received the biggest immigration wave from the whole Europe, which was covered up by the Western Media - Oil and Gas Lobby is very potent. 5. Denmark was one of the few countries which was trying to say NO to so called immigration quotas established by the EU. 6. Poland decided to take Christian refugees from Syria (because they were discriminated and refused asylum by the French and other authorities) 7. Ukrainians were allowed to work freely. At the End of the Day Denmark takes People who were Denied Help For many Years in Europe because for various reasons( discrimination, oil and gas lobby etc.,...) Imagine the other scenario - Poland behaves like Gee-Money - we close the border in 2014 for Ukrainians, don't rescue Christians from Syria...No...Always take the Side of those who are persecuted the Most! Help them First! That's what Denmark is doing Now and that's why Denmark is going to be respected in the Baltic Sea region, Central and Eastern Europe. And some other bigger Countries no...

Denmark is preparing to receive over 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, or 5 times more than earlier estimated. Around 24,000 Ukrainian's (almost all being women and children) had already applied for residency in Denmark under the recent special law for Ukrainian refugees last month, with 2,000 of them also applying for asylum straight away, Immigration Minister Mattias Tesfaye said at a briefing. “I’d like to stress that this doesn’t mean that 100,000 Ukrainians are guaranteed to live in Denmark in a few months. Nobody knows how many will end up coming here,” Tesfaye said. More than $295 million have already been set aside to cover the expenses of taking in 20,000 Ukrainian refugees. Some of that money has already been diverted from the Danish development aid to Syria, Mali, Bangladesh and Burkina Faso, and with more Ukrainian refugees coming in, further funds could be taken from the foreign development budget. “The primary aim of the government’s foreign development strategy is that refugees must be helped in near areas [to conflict, ed.]. Denmark has now actually become a near area, and a special responsibility follows that. There is therefore no contradiction between what our strategy states and what we are doing now,” Minister for Foreign Development Flemming Møller Mortensen said. Perhaps I should add that if 100,000 Ukrainians eventually end up in Denmark, the number of refugees the Nordic country will take in will far outstrip that from both the Yugoslav wars in the 1990s and the 2015 refugee crisis. Around 18,000 people from the former Yugoslavia came to Denmark as a result of the wars in the Balkans region, while 30,000 Syrian refugees including reunified family members came to Denmark following the 2015 crisis. So this would be by far the highest number of displaced refugees to come to Denmark since World War II, without comparison to anything we’ve seen since. War-torn Syria and neighboring regions stand to lose $7.4 million due to the decision. Mali, which is plagued by terror groups, loses $10.4 million, and Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest countries, will lose $14.8 million in Danish aid spending. The reason for diverting money from the specific countries mentioned above, is because their governments deliberately are receiving military aid from Russia, with Mali being the latest example. Mali came with a cry for help, asking Denmark to help out with fighting terrorists, but when the Danish special forces arrived around two month ago, they got the message that they had to work side by side with Putin's Russian mercenaries (the Wagner Group), which Denmark took as an insult and refused to do. At first the Danish defense department could not even believe that this demand came from the Mali government, but perhaps was planted by Russian hackers, so they asked Mali to either deny or confirm it, and there was a dispute over this, and Denmark told Mali that the special forces would leave instantly and return home if Mali confirmed it. So now the future of Mali is in the hands of Putin's Russian mercenaries and they have lost their aid in favor of Ukrainian refugees in need. Is this due to some sort of "racism", or a double standard from the Danish government ?, I personally do not think so.

@@II-wk8kv .. They no longer have democracy in Mali but a military junta that then overruled the agreement of getting help from Denmark in favor of Russia. I can only guess why, but both Russia and Mali share the exact same terrible low spot in the corruption rankings, where Denmark is 1# as the least corrupt in the World, so I suspect that this is one of the reasons. They simply do not like our kind of democracy, and our way of doing business.

@agffans57252 жыл бұрын
@@II-wk8kv .. Not really, Russia is among the the most corrupt countries in Europe and more corrupt than Ukraine, the difference being that Ukraine genuinely want to improve and respect and specifically look to Denmark for help and have now already signed contracts and asked for specific help to rebuild their country after the war (especially the city and shipyard of Mykolaiv). So there is a mutual respect and understanding, and signed deal between Ukraine and Denmark to improve what they need to improve in the future to come.

There is no racism in Denmark, that's pure nonsense. If you work hard and your wife does the same, and you take care of your children, you will be treated like everybody else. But some boring statistics: 50 % of all imprisoned in Denmark are foreigners or grandchildren of foreigners. Muslim women have a lower work frequency. Daughters of Muslim families are not allowed to have a Danish boyfriend or even worse a Danish husband. In Denmark it's natural for men and women to swim in the same swimming pool. Muslim women can only go swimming, if men aren't allowed. In the kindergartens you can't serve pork meat to Muslim children. And many other things. And it is very easy if you can't find a job to say I can't get it because of racism, and play the victim card. Religion does not exist in Denmark. We are so to say Christians, but it's only a few who attend the church on a daily basis. Maybe Christmas day. I worked with an African guy, he was black with very white teeth, one day we discussed integration or better assimilation. He said I am African and we have lived there for thousands of years in Africa you are Danish and this has been your country thousands of years. So you set the rules for your country and Africans make the rules for their country. You cannot come to another country and impose your rules to a new country. You either follow the rules of the country live in or find another country. Very simple and it works for immigrants from Asia they have a very high work frequency.

In Poland, we have a lot of immigrants (and now also refugees), especially from Ukraine and Belarus, and there is no problem with them to anyone (maybe except for some very radical populists like "Konfederacja" party, which members are befriending Russian spies :)). During my second year of studies, a Belarusian couple moved into my flat. From the day they arrived in Poland, they started to speak our language even though it was very difficult for them. They had found the job and now probably they are still here, I hope they've found a good place to live. I would definitely say, that they are one of us and are most welcome. Denmark was very hospitable to refugees for years, and many of them didn't even learn their language (which is to be fair, quite simple). So that's the difference between middle eastern immigrants and eastern/Central Europe immigrants: they work and they respect the country they are moving in.

i think the biggest and most important factor now and in the future is that there are differences between ukrinians and middle eastern refugees. Ukrainian refugees are much more likely to speak at least some english, and are more likely to have a "western" style education. wich will make integration or assimilation much faster and easier. and there are some racisme 2. ukrainian people look more or less like Danes, which means people are less likely to assume that they must be some shady people, it's sad but true. and i will just add that when the refugees crisis started back forever ago. people welcomed many refugees with open arms. but many refugees, some terror attacks and a lot of fear mongering later, not so much.
