I’m planning on traveling to Ukraine from America in a few months. Will it be offensive if the only languages I speak are English and Russian? I know most Ukrainians understand Russian, but it’s my understanding that most people don’t want to speak Russian anymore. Thank you!
@LuengramАй бұрын
@@Tyler.MorganPeople are different everywhere, but it's commonly agreed that you shouldn't speak russian in Ukraine publicly now (some people just don't care). Young people here understand English well enough today. But if you struggle to communicate in English, that's not THAT big of a problem to switch to russian, to be honest, nobody will hurt you for this, really. If you are planning to be polite, you can figure out phrases you are going to say in Ukrainian and learn them. Since you already know russian it won't be too difficult

Sadly, it's not only "the media". My friends run supply runs from Berlin to Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv. So I have mixed feelings. It's important to bring business, show the other side, the culture. At least, if you don't only clickbait travel. The worst are the Kharkiv cowboys, who just travel to show off, and clickbait volunteer for 3 days. And then some influencers find some rich guys car in Kyiv and produce virals like "this is where your money goes!" while the friends and families of my friends die and get ripped apart at the front and beg for drone parts, drones, NVG, ecoflows, generators, medical supplies, used Pajeros and Land Cruisers to modify for Casevac and Medevacs. The understanding of horror dimishes the further you get away from the front. Even the Kyiv crew spends nights on the floor in hallways, parking garages, subway. With houses exploding in people dying. Don't look from the other side of the ocean and think: "shit is fine!" Keep donating, one of the best crews you can donate to: Swedish run QM for Ukraine. Check them instagram.com/qm_for_ukraine/ and make your choice and vote accordingly as US citizens. And if you have doubts, watch www.youtube.com/@Ihor_tkachov. Welcome to Ukraine! I am very grateful that there are people outside of Ukraine who are willing to visit us. Lviv is a beautiful city, and I'm glad you like it.

You are brave, and not just for coming to #Lviv during this time but for going from coffee and pastry straight for chocolate. I am 💯 with you for Galaktoboureko being the best dessert. Thank you for visiting Ukraine. God bless you!

It’s the fault of the US that they are in this war! If Zelenskyy had negotiated with Putin as planned, just a short time after it started, it would have been over way back then. Instead the US used them for a proxy war!
