This situation mirrors what happened with Japan before they signed the Plaza Accord, which ultimately harmed their economy. However, no similar agreements currently exist between China and the U.S. As a result, the U.S. is constantly on edge, facing challenges in military, space technology, science, economy, navy, and air force. This has led the U.S. to allocate $1.6 billion of its federal budget to counter Chinese influence through smear campaigns.
