it kinda hurts being called a musical amateur after playing the trombone for over 5 years... it is true though while I´m not a beginner at trombone playing anymore I still feel like a beginner with music in general respectively composing music...

I would like to try this because I have many song I wrote that I would like to test this on. But you have to have an activation code to unlock it so you can not test it. Which is to Bad because I could but this program through a good test. For now it is a shell of a hollow program that I can not use unless I can open it up and use it.

I really would want to see an app changes an existing song with vocals into fully instrument even the voice part, like vocals -> violin, but who know what AI you need for that, maybe not even long now.

For most of my life I've written song lyrics (with the accompanying music "stuck" in my head) but failed to spend the time learning any instrument. I just can't seem to get myself started with the process of actually getting anywhere with an instrument. Thus... none of my work has ever been "produced". I believe that I write good songs (personal opinion, of course), and really want to share them before my life comes to its end. I've been thinking about some collaboration with friends who actually do have some instrumental talents... but conveying what I "hear" in my mind to another human being so that they can play it... seems next to impossible. BUT... with something like this (if it really works as described), maybe it would be possible to put together a recording (even if it is just a rudimentary shadow of what I'm after) for them to listen to. That could be a tremendous "head start" towards the destination I wish to bring them to. I wonder if there is someplace I could go to see a demonstration... or maybe even try it out?

@@bobinthewest8559 Did a quick search on the internet for imitone. Seems it did not get anywhere beyond setting up a kickstarter page. Looks like they couldnt translate a good idea into a product. Never too late to learn an instrument and it can be fun in itself. Maybe try learning a musical instrument like piano. The basics of things like chords can be learnt quite quickly. Good luck.

immitune. I made a comment on this video just to clear up anyone who thinks this is 'pitch shifter' or 'auto tune'. I have not used this software but It's an interesting way to help make quick sense of musical ideas so you can develop them. Thanks for reminding me about this btw...

Why don't... Just try to learn? I mean this is good and all but I think instead of doing this you should just put your time into learning the instrument.

I haven't heard anything interesting only people screaming... I do not believe it can ever work... it could be nothing more than a toy (nothing against that, but learning to play real instruments CAN be funny as well). BTW digital instruments can not imitate timbre of real ones... because timbre changes in a lot of ways depending on how the instrument is played and it is not possible to matematically capture all these nuances. The human voice is an instrument as well, but even more complicated. Let the voice be the voice and the instrument be the instrument. We can't do better. We can't digitally imitate a good fiddle, trumpet or harmonica player. A good singer is even more difficult. We do not know enough of how human voice is produced and we would probably never know, because it is a very complicated physical system.

For a song writer (or, a singer who writes lyrics, and has the music stuck in their head)... one who lacks the ability to play an instrument... This could be an invaluable tool for (say) showing your guitarist just how the guitar part (that you've imagined) goes.

I feel ya....I keep my phone by me at night. Sometimes I will actually dream an amazing melody, chord progression or groove, and I have to capture it while it still makes sense. And I'm a drummer, so that's just double weird...haha
