Russia's ambassador to Britain has told the BBC he does not believe his country will use tactical nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine.
Andrei Kelin said that according to Russian military rules, such weapons are not used in conflicts like this.
He also described allegations of war crimes in the town of Bucha as "a fabrication".
And he called UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss "very belligerent" and inexperienced.

I wish the interviewer had told him and showed him the "full story" of this incident. A group of russian soldiers drove up to a car dealership near kyiv in a white VAN they had marked with spray cans. They started to break into the dealership. The two, rather elderly, security guards then came to see what was going on and had a talk with the soldiers, shared a cigarette even. Then the security guards walked away, and as you saw, the two soldiers turned back around and shot the two men. One of the men had survived and got up after a few minutes. Bleeding heavily he went into their small office to call for help. A few ukrainian soldiers, who were vastly outmanned, made their way their to save the man, but he eventually bled to death. There is footage of this too. And there is footage inside the car dealership where the soldiers took off their gear, looted the place and drank alcohol. I know you don't need to believe me, I am writing this for the people who don't know about this incident. Thisis the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3i4o4GGhbmGja8

@@SolPhantasmagoria But tbh they only have to be careful because the rest of the powerful nations will hold Russia accountable if Russia officially calls it a war. USA has not officially declared war on or been at war with any country since around ww2, yet no one would dare try to really sanction them thus everyone, including US diplomats, call them wars despite officially not being wars even Iraq, Afghan, Vietnam etc.... It's basically just politics, they are wars yet not, partly because of all the laws involving wars now (ie: it actually was illegal to declare war in the examples above), it's a worldwide phenomenon that countries try not to officially call their wars "war".

He said the question brought to mind photos he'd seen of children who had been raped and abused by Russian soldiers : the sort of images one cannot get out of one's mind. That is why he became upset. Russian soldiers did some terrible things in Bucha - things that cannot be described on TV. That is why the EU, and US Congress, and NATO, Biden and Boris, all say Russia must fail. The Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby almost wept when asked a question on Ukraine. He is a hardened former Vice Admiral, and was asked why he got upset. However many years it takes, Russia must fail and be seen to fail.

You’re right. The thing that amazes me; how people like him never appear to consider the possibility that: Hell, exists. If it does, after death, rather than the living Hells his countrymen have created in Ukraine; he will be going straight there. After death. Maybe straight after a heart attack in an interview where his body can’t stand the strain of the truth/lie conflict anymore. Straight to hell. He should read about it. It’s an awful place. What happened in Bucha will be shown to him, over and over again. For eternity. Plus much worse. Short term planning, that’s the problem here. He doesn’t even consider that there could be the slimmest possibility of an afterlife. Not a pity.

It’s so tiring listening to Putin’s do-boys make excuses for him. If Russia was so worried about the treatment of Russian speaking people in Ukraine for 8 years then why didn’t they just offer asylum and immediate citizenship to any Ukrainian who wanted to live in Russia. If your Ukrainian but want to live under Russian control move to Russia. I’m polish and living in America. If I desired to live under polish government I can’t expect Poland to come invade America to protect my polish identity conversely if I became disillusioned with America and desire to live in Poland then doesn’t it make sense that I pack my bags and move to Poland. The ambassador tried to explain that the Ukrainians/Azov Nazis would lodge their armoured gear in certain floors of apartment buildings, and attack the Russians from there - knowing that civilians were either upstairs or downstairs, and thus force the Russians to retaliate. This is why the apartment buildings are so wrecked. The Ukrainians used the civilians as human shields!!!

How much sure are you that no civilians were left in the building? And even if those civilians have gone, they still turned a civilian target into a military position. There is no white or black here, everything is grey, and this journalist was an affront...he's trying to get "GOTCHA" moments, instead of trying to do an actual interview. He's just looking at getting clip moments...and this is what's called journalism at BBC nowadays...I wonder if he'd do the same style of interview if he sat in front of Obam and started making questions regarding the US drone project, that killed over 15 thousand people of foreign nations without providing evidence of guild or any sort of trial...I bet he would be more interested in knowing what Obama has been up to in his spare time...

Well, the ambassador just doubted a single dodgy video with just two apparent victims, while the interviewer made a much more outrageous claim that any civilians at all have died in Donbas as a result of Ukrainian shelling (14 thousand died 2014-2021, around 8 thousand of them civillians, around 400 of them children, all corroborated by the OSCE monitoring mission). And the interviewer even said that it didn't even matter since the Russian invasion has now caused more deaths elsewhere in Ukraine. That is an even more twisted logic, saying that a subsequent wrong makes a preceding wrong right and failing to see cause and effect relationships. And of course not all new deaths are caused by Russians. Just because Russia "started it", it cannot be blamed for everything that the Ukrainian military does "in defense".
