I'm not convinced that leaving the EU is the best thing for the economy. It's still in a fragile state and is still recovering from the recession and leaving the EU would expose far too many vulnerabilities. The leave voters don't appear to have any comprehension of international economics and demonstrate this very well by dismissing any valid economic argument or concern as "project fear" rather than coming up with any sensible counter argument. As for sovereignty, what kind of "sovereign" country can we be when can't even put in enough money in industry, defence, counter terrorism and basic public welfare as a result of crumbling economy? So simply for the sake of our economy, it is much better to stay. we can still be sovereign and in the EU

But the EU has agreed to extend it to 13 years if we stay in. We might not have got what we or what Cameron wanted but at least we got something.

+Dodgy Dez I would say people are more concerned rather than scaremongering, true we would have more options in trade like Switzerland for example or we could have a free trade agreement with the EU. But Switzerland still has to abide by many EU rules and have to pay to access the single market, Negotiating a trade agreement could take years and if you completely break away then we could rely on the WTO but exports would still be subject to EU tariffs and production standards. Really this is all speculation and hypothetical the only way to find out for sure is to vote out but if we do and it all goes to shit, I bet its a lot easier getting out than it is getting back in.

I dont have a passport and he talks about giving more jobs.... what bs. I have just been on job seekers and 90% of the jobs going went to other people with passports... so foreigners were getting put forward for jobs instead of a British citizen as they actually had passports. (utter bs) And all the job centre would offer me was jobs at freaking Mc Donalds... All those years of studying was worth it! And when I turned it down they threatened to stop my job seekers and from getting access to job seekers for up to three years! And another thing that annoyed me is a majority of the staff at my job centre were not English and you can see them being nice to the people from their countries but as soon as you sit down they treat you like crap. Also what about homes for British citizens? Rent around my area for a one bedroom is between £800-£900 a month..... for you to be able to live on your own in my area you have to be lucky enough to get a 20k+ job. ..... but immigrants get given a house or apartment on council rates. (£400-£500 a month or sometimes free!) This country treats British citizens like crap and always puts immigrants first, so I am voting out so British citizens will come first always in their own freaking country.

Анастасия Матвеева I haven't had a passport since I shared with my mum when I was a kid. Though I was meant to buy a new one (and would have prioritised it if I knew it was that important) but before I was on job seekers I had a temp job and I saved up some money for a passport and so I could finish my driving lessons too (as I was planning a long overdue holiday) but unfortunately around two weeks after I left my temp job my dad had a stroke so I had to use my money that I saved to stay at home and buy things that my dad needed and also so I could care for my dad too but when my dad started to get a little better thats when I went on job seekers and found out about this passport malarkey. ....I think I have to really consider getting out of London.

Some down to citizens for advice on temporary documentation. Find a customer service centre and come down there with you relatives, and moms passport. The situation can be debated on( including post pay for money), Why din't they tell you all that at social?
@Zauchi
@Zauchi 9 жыл бұрын
Анастасия Матвеева I dunno why... I will look into it myself tomorrow as I quit job seekers as it was disheartening going there. I would rather starve and struggle then go back. I do have original birth certificates with where I was born in this country and I did have a dbs form from my temp job but they said they didn't want either as it wasn't proof like a passport. (confused?... yes so was I) I just got the impression that they wanted to get rid of me and off job seekers so they could give the good jobs to their fellow countrymen. Though they started to become unhelpful after I was on job seekers for a month and I had to wait for one of my interviews for over an hour. When I got to sit down the advisor said that they were short on staff, so I said that "you could employ me" but that was a mistake because all I got was a dirty look, silence for a few seconds, then the advisor changed the subject. I felt very awkward during that and the few weeks after every time I would go in I would be spoken to as if I was an idiot. ...but yes I will definitely ring my local citizen advice centre tomorrow and see what can be done about it. Its good you said that cause I didn't have a clue there may be some help available.

There are many much smaller countries than the UK in the world (Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and many others) doing extremely well on their own creating wealth, improving the standard of living of their people, and made them proud of who they are, without being dragged along by a declining imperialistic regulation bound Union which is slowly dying because it is too undemocratic, and too German dominated. The Germans are very good at manufacturing things but not much good at promoting the interests of the non German parts of the Union. The EU is dying a slow but inevitable death. Idiot. If you leave the EU, you can reduce benefits to new comers to zero. You can reduce new comers to zero. You don't have to try and negotiate with the EU if you are not in the EU. The EU will not "reform". If it had the integrity to reform, it would had the integrity not to sink into corruption. The no-go zones have got to go-go. Said Ben Franklin, "those who trade freedom for a little bit of safety, deserve neither" Sovereign autonomy but does not mean surrendering the UK as a colony to a foreign power. If UK has lost so much faith in herself that she dare not sail her own ship through uncharted waters, then she is already sunk. "No, no" says Cameron "Let's chain ourselves to the oars and let someone else take the helm. The seas are too scary."

Answer to Cameron's Project Fear: There is NOTHING the EU does that we cannot do for ourselves. We do not need to pay £350,000,000 a week to the EU in order to have agreements and alliances with countries (whether in the EU or not) on anything you like - trade, defence, climate, saving the whale or anything else. Leaving the EU does NOT stop us working with other countries on matters of mutually beneficial interest. EU has spent 7 years negotiating trade deal with USA and they're STILL not there. Reason: they don't REALLY want a deal, they're ultra protectionist and wanna keep trade just within EU. But it's holding them back. I have no faith in them whatsoever.

I voted leave and David's first few words of his speech explains why " I want to remain to negotiate a better position in the EU" no David. You failed to negotiate that before the vote, hence why the vote had to be called by yourself, there was no reforming it, this was our only way :) I'm still glad 7 years on.

P. M. This must be the most specious argument I have ever heard. The step into the dark was made over 40 years ago when we were duped into an outfit that turned out to be far removed from what it purported to be.You know in your heart you have gained nothing of any real importance from your E. U. masters, but are hoping to convince the voters that you have, because you and your cohorts are mindful of your future political careers. If we leave the E.U. many will have their political aspirations thwarted. The vote to stay in this very long dark tunnel has nothing to do with trade or democracy, but it will get very much darker for all us..

The EU is great for Britain, without it, the British Economy would spiral into oblivion. So, it's best to stay in a reformed EU. David Cameron knows what he's talking about.

He was right ... just how right is becoming clearer and clearer. Where exactly are these new markets to replace the 44% of exports going to the EU? When do the trad talks start? Will they conclude before Brexit is less than two years? We are heading to economic disaster?

East Europeans don't come to the UK for benefits, they come here to work hard: the more hours a week the better. Its the immigrants from other continents that claim the most of the UK benefits.

7. All countries all over the world have to sign up to trade negotiation deals - the German cars have to be a certain way for the US markets and a certain way for the Chinese markets. It's an empty argument. The EU want us as customers. They will want to buy our products and services because they are unique. Next.

6. Being discriminated against by the EU - and that would happen because? The UK is one of the most important export markets for the EU (read German car manufacturers) sorry but no, they will still want to sell us their merchandise. "The EU will still exist" - it will - until we Brexit and other countries realize they can leave too and the whole ship sinks. Yes! Next!
