Nasa spacecraft blasts off to hunt alien life on a distant moon | BBC News

Nasa's Europa Clipper spacecraft that will hunt for signs of alien life on one of Jupiter’s icy moons has blasted off from Florida, US.
Nasa launched the spacecraft at 12:06 local time after hurricane Milton forced the mission to postpone plans last week.
Europa Clipper will now travel 1.8 billion miles to reach Europa, a deeply mysterious moon orbiting Jupiter.
It will not arrive until 2030 but what it finds could change what we know about life in our solar system.

*'2010: Odyssey Two'* is a science fiction novel by British writer Arthur C. Clarke. It is the sequel to his 1968 novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, and was written in 1982. Curiously, it includes the famous quotation: "“All these worlds are yours. Except Europa. Attempt no landing there.” Coincidence? EDIT: Strangely, I'm watching as replies to me appear here and then some are swiftly removed.... what's that all about?

ive seen something that looked human built but moved very differently. satelite about the size of a large space station (i could see it tumbling and gleaming in the setting sun) above all cloud layers so not a drone. it went across the sky like a normal satelite, then made a 120 degree turn instantly, and another, and again the other direction, making a kind of bow tie shape..then it accelerated off into the horizon in only 6 seconds and was gone. just north west of puerto rico about 4years ago. we dont have that tech as far as i know...to stop a large object moving instantly and apply all its motions in another direction in an instant. no flares or jets. just itself.

Venus has polar ice , in the dark all the time could provide deep sea earthly environment for life too .

venus csn be terraformed to make an earth 2.0. it has all the chemicals required, just needs a nudge. compared to mars..which hasnt got enough gravity to hold an oxygen rich atmosphere, it all evaporates. mars is a dead end for humans. likely has a lot of minerals though. usa went to mars, russia went to venus. one of them was thibking ahead 😅 partly why elons a bad idea.

The Europa Clipper is a great mission and it's amazing that they finally launched it And that's not a surprise that BBC somehow completely forgot to make a material about another of Elon Musk's great achievement that revolusionised the space industry aka Starship ift-5 when he caught the Super Heavy Booster mid-air
