Enz inyobed Kanye's emphatic to be sure. I would argue that his frustration doesn't come from being crazy. His attitude comes from his perception that the world is crazy. For the most part, people choose apathy because it's the safe option. Many people are taught from a young age, "Keep your head down. Don't cause trouble." These lessons kill creativity and more importantly, they kill passion. Kanye's gift has certainly been music. In my opinion though, his much more important gift has been to teach people to care and this is priceless.

I have to apologize to Kanye, ofcourse he will never see this but that's fine. For years I have bought into the image that media creates of him. The arrogant and self inflated super ego that steps on others for a headline. I saw this interview when it first came out and got mad for how loud and angry he was. Watching this 5 years later with a different mentality has shown me that I was completely wrong. He is trying to give us the key for confidence and self-esteem. He actually wants everybody to succeed by showing us it's okay to love ourselves and shoot for the stars because it's entirely possible to achieve our dreams. Watching videos on his process and how he creates his albums has given me so much inspiration. I am currently going back and listening to his whole body of work. Hearing without the negative thoughts that come from the tabloids. He is so aware of his circumstance it's almost scary. Makes sense why he is painted as a bad guy, if you discredit the man you discredit his ideas as well right? Kanye is the real Morpheus.

One of my favourite things about this interview is how calm Kanye is at the start of each of his different points. He gets more emotional as he illustrates his arguments further and we get the iconic lines like “what the fuck does she know about cameras,” but throughout he is always concise and clear on what he means. This interview is proof that if you let Kanye explain his points (like his music) you will understand him and usually agree with what he is saying. The problem is he can usually start his points with a harsh statement, and conclusions are made from the wider crowd. Yeezus is one of his best albums to me because he really spoke about what was frustrating him at the time, so much so that he couldn’t help but rant about those topics in an interview about the album. 🐐

Apollo NineOne I actually really rate him as a producer (not 808, but Dark Fantasy and Yeezus for sure), but the things he's saying are so misguided. He's claiming to be a post-modernist at the most and a futurist at best, but he's plugging the same philosophies of the mid-20th century. by virtue of the fact that hes talking about codes and over-arching structures that control every aspect of our lives (which he tries to transcend), he's taking a step backwards.

Mudenge Mukundwa he shouldn't be. He's human. I bet you everything in my account, give me a "role model" and you can find a scandal. All of the people in pop culture are human on some level, maybe horrible on others (Tiger, Bill Cosby, Bill Clinton, etc, etc.) The best thing people can do is take the wisdom and leave the bullshit. Ye is my dude, not because he can do no wrong. But because as great as he is in some areas, he can be a fuckup in others like a brother or relative. I wouldn't throw away my family for that, and they've done way worse than a person I've only met a handful of times. I don't know Kanye on a personal level, so I can't say he's done anything to hurt me personally. However, his work has inspired me to be confident in the person I always knew that I was.

Kanye West is a living sociology book that constantly acts deviant to challenge mediocre thoughts. Like him or not, he has a valid point about the way society is constructed. He is merely criticizing the unfairness and the control that capitalism have on people, as well as classism and the new definition of racism. He is often misunderstood because of his delivery but that's one of the reasons I like him. This is one of the greatest interviews of all time.

he is saying is the biggest rapper ever which he is not he fell off after graduation and nobody cares about his rants anymore because he talks about himself to much and not about the music which the interviewer asked him about and kanye never answered because he was to busy ranting about the t-shirts. Kanye fell off because he has been ranting like this from 2009- the present. And people got sick of him and nobody cares about him anymore because he only seems to care about himself. Like name one time he has actually answer a question without bringing up him or his clothes in this interivew. And never talks about his fanbase and that is why he lost a lot fans. And he is dissing his song gold digger that he new a lot people like which is stupid. Because that was when people actually liked him. I thought he was amazing from 2004-2009 but fell off with half the tracks being horrible 808 and his new ones with whack flow. Kanye is a fake comparing himself to jesus and can't believe you thick head kids think he is the realest when you guys probably don't listen to any other rappers

lifeform106 If no one cared about him, he wouldn't have had huge hits on the radio. Mercy was fucking huge, along with Clique, Power, All of the Lights, Runaway, Bound 2.... You're an idiot lol. Get your facts straight before saying no one has cared about him since Graduation.
@SRT_Hefe10 жыл бұрын
lifeform106 Kanye has been ranting since the beginning of his career...even common said it himself. And ALOT of rapper compare themselves to jesus, pusha T a rapper who a lot of people love does. And myself listen to many rappers such as Joe budden,lloyd banks,common,Lupe fiasco,nas,crooked I,j cole,and honestly kanye is one of the realest. Not talking about that he's hard on tracks but what he speaks about especially when he's ranting...he's one of the only rappers out there who actually speak there mind on subjects, if people actually listened they'd understand he is mostly answering the question but for some reason he goes crazy in depth and brings up situations that can be compared to the question and many people see that as going off topic, also some other rappers do that such as 50 cent if you've watched his interviews. But most rappers out just shut there mouth and don't use it. And to touch on him "dissing" his track gold digger other rappers could be said the same thing to but don't get as much hate, like 50 dissing ja rule because he sings on songs but 50 went and did the same thing. I've been to concerts and some I've seen the rappers rant, probably not as long as kanye but they still do. It seems like you put kanyes name on something it automatically gets hated on...lmao I'm just sayin those few thoughts tho

19:17 right there. That exact moment. As much as it turned to a meme. LISTEN closely, not a single lied was being told as he talked about Gaga and til this day this interview has held its ground. Undoubtedly one of are greatest artists if not the greatest artist of this generation.
@inma56653 жыл бұрын
he was totally off, gaga designed a lot of polaroid products that fit her artistic vision and integrated in the album concept at the time, she does know about cameras, she went to a prestigious art school and had directed some of her own videos and projects, a creative director doesn't have to be an absolute expert or technician in the matter. It was just a partnership/sponsorship with the brand that gaga used as a conduit to accomplish her vision, that's it. Another thing is supposed celebrities brands already existing but placing their names in it and trying to sell it as brand new, this is not the case.
@jules14692 жыл бұрын
Kanye enjoys Gaga, and vice versa. The bigger point Kanye is making here is that because of his race, he feels a position at a white-owned historic company (Polaroid for example) isn’t readily accessible, despite his expertise involving clothing, culture, taste, etc and his agency/influence in those spaces.
@inma56652 жыл бұрын
@@jules1469 i watched the whole interview and he never brought race when it comes to this topic in particular lol in fact he did exactly the same with a shoes and fashion company, she just put gaga as an example of a celeb trying to sell a product
@neilseletlowhisler25222 жыл бұрын
@@inma5665 but that's what he's talking about. Just because he didn't mention race per se it's the running theme. The reason he's frustrated. It's literally how "New Slaves" starts - "you woulda thought I needed help, but they wasn't satisfied until I picked the cotton myself." The slave mentality. He was screaming to break out of the shell he was placed in because of so much ambition, creativity, etc was surging through his veins breaking barriers and such.... But he was reminded that "even if you in a Benz, u still a nigga, in a coupe." The images they put on us and thus we put on ourselves. It's too much for us to simply take care of changing it. He knew he needed assistance from studying how great companies got to where they are.. So that THEN he can do DONDA and so forth. And now you can see him not needing to look up to the established bc he's now there. Having a Black Future Month Brunch with young creatives in their own, and within established companies.
@inma56652 жыл бұрын
@@neilseletlowhisler2522 no, that's not the reason he's frustrated, he just put gaga's example thinking she doesn't know about cameras, while he thinks he supposedly know how works the products he has his name in, it's basically "i know my shit, they don't" and let me tell you, is equally difficult for a woman to be involved in the technology game and be taken seriously, just look at how kanye thinks she doesn't know anything about cameras and dismiss her when she has done the work and went to art school.
