Everytime I'm just so grateful that Olivia rodrigo covered 'Stick Season' because that performance literally introduced me to Noah. Noah's lyrics are unique and captured my interest instantly. I subscribed to him immediately after olivia's BBC performance & I spent a long time going through his lyric videos & performances. Out of curiosity, I was like "huh? who's that??" when I saw the post on youtube . Then I watched it AND IMMEDIATELY understood why she picked Noah and Stick Season. All doubts out the door. Definitely a lyrically marvellous song that would catch many people's attention. Especially Olivia who seem to appreciate lyrically-driven songs. Proves that great worthy musicians like Noah just need that little exposure for them to be very rightfully recognised. Cheering for him. Kudos to Olivia too. Artists tend to cover big popular songs on BBC to gain viewership and pander to bigger artists. I was surprised by her choice at first, but so happy she did. Noah deserves everything.

It’s literally almost bewildering how much context can completely color how we experience music and art. It’s almost flabbergasting how much the context of a piece of art con change the perception or experience of it. This was the first version of this song I ever heard and I was not in love with it. Coming back a year later after knowing Olivia Rodrigo’s version much more intimately and it was a completely different experience. Very emotional and captivating. It’s like this nirvana of a tired experience viewed from a new lense that completely transforms it as a piece of art. It was absolutely beautiful. Idk how much sense I’m making but the way I hear and feel a truly great piece of art is one of the most transcendental things I’ve ever been a part of. And it was a very potent form of gnosis to see how different context totally can shape the way art hits us. It’s like a truly honestly subjective thing that exists objectively and I’m ok with that.
