A case of when the public isn't always right. The real winner of the entire thing is Alexandra, I was so rooting for her and watched the show just because of her. You go girl, you get 1,000,000% in terms of grace, showmanship and attitude. Keep going strong, never give up!

I've always had this problem when it comes to any show that has a public vote. At the end of the day it's a popularity contest rather than being judged on actual skill, there are instances though were the winner can actually dance well. Ohh I cried buckets when jean got ill and died! I Really looked after jean! Always made a cup of tea in a proper china cup ! When we both shared an intimate conversation about horrible men and their behaviour, we both broke down and cried! It was like a reiki healing session! It was something she needed to release before she died! As a believer of Caroline Myss’s philosophies, I truly believed she could die in peace releasing pain and trauma!!!! Alexandra Burke is the real winner of this year's Strictly. This jive was the dance of the season and along with her spectacular show dance Alexandra proved she is the best dancer on Strictly this season. Her routines were all better than anything the other 3 couples performed and my heart really does go out to her tonight as she was the deserved and rightful winner. So sad that the public voted for who they liked as a person over who was the better dancer and after all the bad press Alex wrongfully received, she could have got 160/80 for her 3 dances and still not have won. It didn't matter to the public that Alex was the best dancer, Joe was more popular and that's what swung it for him. He wasn't a better dancer than Alexandra, far from it, he was just liked more. Alexandra is the true winner and should know that all her fans are so proud of her and she will always be a winner in our eyes. You were robbed Alex and on behalf of the voting public you deserve an apology.

Patrick very funny. Yes Joe is a lovely guy and that's exactly the reason why he won, because he was more popular with the public. It didn't make any difference how the others danced; Joe was the most popular out of the finalists so he could have danced the hokey cokey and still won. Alexandra Burke was by far the best dancer and as this is a dancing competition she is most definitely the true winner. Alex only came runner up as she is not as popular with the public as Joe is.

Patrick Joe was not a dancing novice. He had lots of previous experience and west end experience so the zero to hero story he was selling the public was all fake. Alexandra Burke is just another incredible dancer that was robbed because the public voted for who they liked best, not for the best dancer. Danny Mac, Natalie Gumede and Ricky Whittle are all in the same group. Look back on all their seasons and you will clearly see that they should have won.

Why is it always Alexandra that gets singled out for having dance experience? Alex had no ballroom or Latin knowledge before entering the competition, therefore all the criticism is really undeserved. She got constant praise and great comments from the judges week after week because she is an incredible dancer. Some people on here are saying that Joe won because he was a dancing novice who went from zero to hero; what a load of absolute nonsense. Joe had lots of previous dance knowledge and west end experience that he tried to keep hidden away, therefore he is the fake one and not Alexandra as someone wrongly commented here. You are also right, Alex could dance in broken heels and still be the best dancer in this year's Strictly. She has been treated abysmally from the press, social media and the public as they spread their nasty untruths, yet she still came out week after week and danced like a professional to prove that all the haters can go to hell as they will never break her. Alexandra Burke is the true winner of this year's Strictly, she was by far the best dancer but sadly not as popular with the public as Joe was. Joe could have danced the hokey cokey and still won. Strictly is farcical as the best dancer rarely ever wins. This bemused me as it is a dancing competition. It's so sad to see the rightful winner ending up as runner up but I just hope Alex knows that all her fans love her, respect her and she will always be a winner in our eyes.

lorna incorrect comment. On the one hand you state Alex had no significant dance experience and then on the other Joe apparently did!? Tbh Alexandra has had tons of experience. She was introduced to dancing from a very young age and has been in West End constantly the last 2 years. Yes Joe also has had experience contrary to what people have suggested. Yet this was much more 'historic' and was probably no way near as much as Alex had. Debbie was a trained ballet dancer- however this could not be said to prepare her for Latin or ballroom (except for balance although since when do ballet dancers learn to be in hold?) and even if it did prepare her a little bit it was years ago. In summary all 3 had dance experience but what is staggering is, given how recent Alexandra's stint on the West End stage Was, why are her delusional super fans trying to deny it? I feel like if strictly were like it used to be ie. In the days of Alesha Dixon when every dance wasn't treated to the full musical theatre experience with props and backing dancers, perhaps Alexandra's technical development would have been showcased better. Instead they portrayed her in a way that made it clear she was in her natural climate throughout with such vast and distracting production.

Aaron Wilkins my point was that it's Alexandra who constantly gets criticized for having dance experience whereas Debbie and Joe don't receive half the criticism or flack. Yes, Alex has been in the west end but this in no way taught her anything to do with Latin or ballroom dancing. Debbie is an experience ballet dancer with years of experience in performing. Also training in ballet obviously helps your posture, balance, core and performance so Debbie did have more dance experience and knowledge than Alexandra. Joe played down his west end experience and tried the hero to zero act on the public and sadly for Alexandra it worked. I'm so sick of all the crap Alex has had to put up with and the constant singling out. If you're going to troll some one at least be consistent in the crap you are writing.

lorna It happened again this year with Ashley. She got all the backlash and unnecessary bullying while Faye and Stacey managed to avoid it. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy all three of them got to the final and happy for Stacey since she's done so well this year, but Faye had dance experience and apparently Stacey went to stage school which is usually something the public takes their pitchforks out for whenever they hear the term "stage school." I personally don't care about past experience as long as they don't have extensive Latin and Ballroom training, I just like to be entertained by good dancing. Ashley, Faye, Joe and Stacey were a refreshing final four after the disaster that was DWTS season 27, unlike that mess of a "winner", each of them deserved to win based on ability and sportsmanship.
