I prefer Rhys in these more controlled dances, he is a bundle of energy and when that is directed into a dramatic performance it is lovely to see. He gave this a good go and really did try to achieve the required shaping. A bit more work in the body needed, but I have to say that the cut of those trousers didn't help. There were some lines where he really should have had straight legs, but they were a little bent, but if he had worn a looser trouser it would have been much more forgiving. He also has a look on his face sometimes when he is concentrating on getting the routine right and it is a clear indication that he isn't totally enjoying the experience. Compared to when he gets to dance in a more looser way, where he positively beams. But back to this Paso ... he danced it well and gave it 100% and has done plenty to see him through to next week.

Could see they were disappointed to be in the bottom 2 last week, Nancy had her game face on in the interview after this dance, I prefer her when she’s more serious, she was very protective and complimentary of Rhys. They deserve to be in the final, tough competition this year though.

SCORE: *7* The attack was there, but the shaping was very wooden in places, knee walks could've had a little Spanish flair to them and footwork could've been placed better. All that to say, I still like the routine, I even like it more that Rhys finally calm down a bit, and the content looked like Paso Doble. It was a good attempt, just wanted more Spanish flair with the content.

There are three main technical things that are important in the paso-doble: tilted hips (bringing the hips forward), shaping of the body and flamenco arms. Rhys really tried to master the shaping and the tilted hips. It was very impressive! However, it was also stiff (especially his arms). If he would have created significantly more flow in his arms and his body, if he would have stretched his upper body and his arms even more, he would have created a perfect picture. This dance was something in-between. On one hand, the tiltled hips were there and Rhys has created some fantastic shapes in his body, but at the same time his arms and his whole body in general were stiff, like he was tensed, physically tightly closed instead of conveying pride and might with his moves and body lines. My score: an 8.

Another great routine by this couple but I feel they haven’t hit the same level since their couples choice imo. I’m hoping they are not going to plateau as I really think there’s potential. Great movement and flow in the routine. My biggest issue is that he over dances and the shapes he make while they look great it looks over attacked and it loses a little bit of impact. Please nail it next week Rhys I know you can do it!! 7

This is one of the cases if Rhys had an experienced strictly pro who could choreograph around his strengths he would be doing much better. Nancy is an amazing dancer & love her choreography but she needs to remember she's not dancing with a professional dancer.

I gotta be straight here People have different ways of showing nervousness, some react more or less than others. In different forms such as overacting or not at all - Rhys shows it by doing a little too out of place and that’s what the judges are not getting. All he has to do take a breath…. And try to believe in himself because there is no right or wrong. You either got it or don’t. This comp is for entertainment and fun! He should just enjoy it and not seem as worried. Nancy should really teach him how to relax while dancing more

8 I'm in two minds on this one. Usualy I find him overly energised in the latin dances and it becomes distracting but I think that worked well with this particular routine. Besides that, he had some great shaping and fantastic rhythm and precision all the way through. I still think he hit it too hard though: he should be extending his lines more and not just throwing them out. I think this dance also goes to show that he really does have a naturally rigid upper body, but I thimk the judges should stop mentioning that because he clearly can't do anything about it. Maybe they could work on disguising it more with armography, and certainly work on the subtle arm and leg actions. He's improving!

That was pretty good. Set myself up for disappointment though. I agree with Anton and Craig. He was a bit awkward and stumbly. He bent way too far back. He lost his balance. He was trying too hard and thought too hard. But it was nice. It fit the war theme. There was also a nice disco-y vibe. But... 9s? That's way too high. Motsi and Shirley were mothering him a bit.

Personally I don't think he was particularly strong in this one. Craig was right. It did seem rather forced and clunky. I've never really been Rhys's biggest fan anyway; I think he's cheesy and often overscored. My score: 7

O dear Rhys, what's happening? Ever since you were in the bottom 2, you are looking like your about to cry when given any feedback? You can dance, but as advised, it just needs more control. Take a leaf out of Adams Peaty's book, he had 3 weeks of poor feedback from the judges, but he acted professionally and took it on the chin and came back stronger! If you can't take constructive criticism you shouldn't be on the show?
