God I love this show. Alice was simply awesome, a complex sociopath with a definite moral center which made her hard to hate. And John Luther, well absolutely one of the most complex tragic tortured geniuses on screen. The two of them together were a riveting, unpredictable pair.

The drama of this scene has few equals in British television. Neil Cross's genius writing. What an ensemble piece from four absolutely brilliant actors. Can you imagine being on set when this was filmed? What a way to leave things, a total mess. Ian getting his come uppance, Mark finally getting to hear the truth. John having his revenge, even though his morality wouldnt allow him to take it personally and Alice being the conduit. Taking revenge on his behalf without any concerns about what is right and what is wrong. And Alice seems to be every man's fantasy. Funny isn't it? She is a totally unique character. So enigmatic, beautiful, sexy and yet a serial killer. I know deep down that she will be back in S5. And like many of us I just cannot wait! The chemistry between her and Luther is palpable. If only they could be together....

In the end of her first series, Alice says that dying is worse than suffering but staying alive, in her last series, she is told that the guy that tried to kill her was alive and suffering by Luther, and she says "good". Was this an intentional character development for Alice?

+Doctor Trails No I don't think so. The whole thing about Alice and death is: she simply does not care. She liked zoey, but she was very cold about her sudden death. I always believed suffering is much more worse than death, but now I think death is worse than suffering. How frighten people can get just before they die. That is the ultimate suffering.
