I agree...he told us in his documentary...im now found out im an i introvert person...it must been hard to do shows almost 365 days in almost 8 years when you are an introvert person..he have to drink to stand out to do all this shows. He was only 17 when all started. Dont think no artist have done so much shows. No doubt ...he love his fans. I think he became a moneymaking machine...All he want to do was to create music..wish he was his own and have his own studio and decide what and when... like the Swedish artists Robyn and Laleh. As he says...if i go one like this im gonna die...it also must been hard to know that his shows give salary to his crew and manager when he fellt that he dont work it out no more....he was a deep person with a big heart who could do music who touch our souls. Here in Sweden his parents donate all money from his last album (postum) to people with suicedes thouhts...so now they can have open calls 24/7 for people in need. menamgamg exactly.. Ash didn’t care ONE bit, Ash basically murdered Tim, pushing him over the limits with shows, and ash knows that Tim had anxiety and depression issues. And in the letter that ash wrote after Tim died he was excusing himself like “Tim never told me how he was feeling.” There was multiple times that Tim told him how he felt and what did ash do? Nothing. Ash didn’t let him take a break or anything and the anxiety built up to the point where he quit and after that... who knows.. you’re very right though. They should be held responsible.

I remember the day he died. It was morning in Australia and I spent all that morning in tears listening to his music. "I can be the one" is still one of my all time favourite love songs that has resonated with me with every person I've loved since its release. It's absolutely heartbreaking that he was struggling and couldn't see a way out. His team clearly didn't care about his health since he was in the peak of his career. I'm now the same age as him when he died and you don't release how young it actually is until you reach that age. Celebrity deaths don't usually impact me but his made me feel so empty since his music is the music of my youth. Literally the first festival I ever went to he was the main headliner. RIP. I hope you're no longer in pain ❤❤❤

It doesn´t have to do with pressure from people around you but being that famous doesn´t make it easier. When he quit touring his body was already permanently damaged, he no longer had a gall-bladder and appendix and was becoming increasingly deaf (he did not use earplugs much at his shows). Not to mention his large amount of drug abuse in his touring days to cope, and the mental strain that over 300 shows a year can do to him. In 2015, everyone I know who has met him on his Sydney tour all said he looked like a meth addict. Once he hit the ice, his life-span was reduced to 5-7 years at the very most because the drug does worsen your brain chemistry and increase your chances of suicide. In the end, his management pushing him too hard and the effects of his drug use was what led him to end his life. When you work in show biz, I can tell you the stories you learn about avicii are relatively worse than the documentary pans it out to be. But the industry pretty much knows he was pushed way too hard by his team, and paid the ultimate price for fame.

​@supecar suspects The media actually doesn't have any control over his shows, only his manager Ash and booking agency does. Ash admitted in a conference in 2012 that Avicii did 300 shows in 2011, way above the average. But Ash was a manipulative and arrogant person IRL (people at Stereosonic Sydney worked with him), and being well aware that Tim had mental issues and struggled to say 'No', he could put as many gigs as possible in. When Avicii himself went up to the Wynn HQ to cancel his 2016 Vegas residency (which is so much money), the only pushback was from Ash. If he severed ties with Ash's management team back in 2013 after the hospital incident, the outcome would've been VERY different for him.

Excellent advice; most of the bad events that have taken place in my life were precipitated by a bad gut feeling that I either ignored or chose someone else's advice over. I bet his gut instinct was to run as far away as he possibly could. That being said, he killed himself after having retired, so it seems unlikely that management pushing him made much difference. It seems likely that the abuse of alcohol largely contributed to this sad outcome, although admittedly I haven't conducted a great deal of research into confirming this. I speculate think his poor health, perfectionistic nature and lack of time in the limelight all culminated in an overwhelming sense of despair that led him to his final decision.

This breaks my heart hearing this and after reading his biography (highly recommend) Tim didn't have to be "Avicii" to be accepted - if only he realized he already was accepted for who he was and didn't need to perform for hundreds of thousands to be accepted. Those feelings of not being accepted (and not accepting himself), trying to please everyone, the pressure of expectations, his pre-existing anxety, depression and Disassociative Identity Disorder were made so much worse by his manager who took advantage of him and cared about money (Ash had NPD or was a sociopath IMO) but suddenly cared when his "asset's" health was in danger in 2015 and he couldn't perform. Signing contracts that were bad for him and basically turned him into a slave performing basically every other day at clubs around the world. Trying to get out of these deals would mean lawsuits and legal battles. By then him trying to numb the hell that his life had become with alcohol and drugs just made everything 100x worse for him. So incredibly tragic we lost this musical genius, sensitive soul and good person. I'm still devasted nearly 4 years later. RIP Tim

Not completely accurate... While the documentary shows such things, many close to him have said following his death that it doesn’t exactly represent or show what the reality of it all was. Articles have been written that feature interviews from those around him that talk a lot more in depth about it all and some notable things i’d like to bring up from said articles were - From the start his manager was very open and willing to work with Tim about his schedule, one of their first agreements even was that nothing that required his presence was allowed without his written consent - His manager held two interventions with people from his family, team, and friends around him included to try to help him as his manager saw how unhealthy he was (it was said at this time he had been found out to be heavily addicted to painkillers and that he had taken up drinking again by his manager) and tried to cancel all upcoming tours to allow him to recover yet it was said that Avicii was the one who broke said agreements and scheduled his own shows - His manager afterwards was said to have “eliminated” many around him who were using him and supplying his unhealthy addictions for monetary gains, but it only angered Tim more as he didn’t see said people as “toxic” or using him (which is understandable, when you’re thrown into that lifestyle from a young age with no real help along the way and left to figure it all out on your own it can lead to being very unguarded and open for people that just want to exploit you to make their way into your life and then convince you that you need them, and then as you have no other experience to call back from, you just go along with it all as you don’t know any better) While there were those around him that were only there to leach off him, not EVERYONE was as most people tend to think and say, a majority of those around him actually were quite worried about him and had tried to help but could either only do so much or he had shut them down as he either didn’t feel like he needed said help and or he felt as if it would hinder him too much from being able to not only supply for those around him, but to please his fans.

Some were musician friends who were on his payroll others just wanted to live in his house in LA and party, and as he said in an interview from 2013 with GQ "he was helping them get laid".
