Great cast , but I abandoned the series when it came to the "masturbation" scene , why ? what value did it bring to the story line ? ... why would an actor degraded himself in such a manner for $$$ or notoriety ? ... a Godless pursuit of entertainment !!!

No, it’s set and filmed in and around Annesley Woodhouse, so a little bit further north than Sherwood.

The only problem I had with this series is the premise of the show holds no weight. The notion that it would be a major conspiracy that the police would send in undercover officers to monitor people’s political views is absurd because we know the police already openly keeps records of people with perfectly reasonable political views under the banner of ‘non-crime hate incidents’.

Very good drama but didn't like the twist at the end where the killer turns out not to be Robin Hood after all. Apart from that it was most enjoyable.

It's based on two murders that happened, and the two men did hide out in Annesley Woods. But much much of the show is fictional and not like the true events. I live very close to where the real events happened. Much of the show is based on the rumours that circulated at the time.
