I had pain in my back, shoulder, neck and head everyday, and went to the doctor to have rehab. None of it worked. Until I had deep tissue massage, and it really worked on me. It really made my life better.

I’m diabetic and workout often to maintain healthy blood sugar level, last year suffered from slip disk and couldn’t exercise at all for more than 6 months and I was worried about sugar levels, I continued with steaches and had 3-4 massages per month. Surprisingly after 6 months of no exercise also my sugar level were even better and only thing which changed was massage so I give credit to massage for my maintained sugar level..

Also, your careful attention to your health by keeping blood sugars smooth kept your health, unless you do that all the time.

Of course it works!!!! Touch is the most primitive of our senses, involving actual physical contact either another medium. The physical manipulation of the tissue, helps flush out built up toxins dead cells and helps circulation. Of course it works! I massage my own feet and other parts after gym or hard days work. You need to know whether intuitively or from school, when and where to apply pressure and how much and in what direction

I grew up in Thailand. Massages were much more affordable and part of a weekly wellbeing treatment for most office workers. I started getting massages since I was a teenager. I still try to get massages any chance I get to keep my body flexible and functioning after stressful days and hard work outs.

Yes massage therapy can relax and release muscles which have been seized for years. It can also soften the scar tissue resulting from sprains and restore full function. Physical therapists have a lot more training and a lot more tricks but a good licensed massage therapist and correct many issues permanently.

I'm a retired licensed massage therapist. There's a big gap between licensed massage therapists and physical therapists. However, in my 20 years as a therapist, i healed dozens of people who had been in pain for over a decade. It often took between one and four sessions and then they did not need treatment anymore. One had been in so much pain for 20 years that they had to use counters to support them when they tried to brush their teeth. He had a portion of his gluteus maximus that had been seized since he took a hit in high school football. After isolating the seas portion and working it out, it took a total of three sessions and he was never in pain again.

Massage the important areas : 1. Head Area (deep press) on the important area can Prevent Stroke. 1. Head Scape, Side Temple (2 Sides), Tense Frozen Shoulder (2 Side), Frozen Tense Neck Back, Back (Entire). Muscle Artery Damage, Injury, Block, Frozen Tense area can aid speedy recovery. If the pressing finger is too tired to press hard enough. I recommend use Osim Hand Massager. I have very high HBP at 180-220 red reading but I never have head stroke and body damage from stroke. I use hand massager press directly to these tense area, painful till pain gone and tense area relief (entire head scape, temple, entire face, shoulders, back, butt area, kidney area). Good Blood Circulation, Relief Tenseness, if hands cannot bring up, shoulder side back area. After relief, hand can raise up. Believe me or not, can prevent heart stroke if apply control pressure at a sustainable time on the heart area which has blockage. Face Stroke (facial droop) happen to many women due to some kind disease that damage the facial nerve. Faster recovery. Home DIY Hand Massager (Osim Brand)

I have neuropathy, burning pain in feet and moving up legs, even hands. Meds I took cause exhaustion and weight gain. Quit meds and turned to foot massage. A cure? No, but neither was the meds. Massage eased foot pain allowing sleep and I dropped 70 pounds, down to 150, without the meds. One hour in America $60. One hour in Thailand $6. I get two 2-hour massages a week or just $48 a month.

But then, I got probably one of the best feelings getting a massage ( I guess massage is either love or hate at first experience) I never noticed I never felt my back muscles. Only after that 90 minute hot stone deep tissue massage! Great experience and I was actually able to feel my back muscles moving! Kid you not I though back muscles were not controllable 😅

"Struggle" is a mind-set. They described self massage and free massage from a friend or loved one for those of us who cannot afford private massage. Including that something as simple as walking around puts pressure on the muscles and nerves. Also therapeutic massage is included in physical therapy programs available through every type of insurance in the US including state and federal programs. No they aren't going to give you a 90 minute "spa" massage with all the garnishments of a spa holiday, but maybe all that extra isn't needed and a hot bath with some bath salts at home after a physical therapy session would help. Rich or poor we do have control over what we make of the day that's been given us. Personally I would never spend a day as a victim or "struggling" -- I may have been treated badly and I may be going through a challenging time but the blue sky is free, yoga and breath work are free, laughter is free, the library is free, etc. I just gave myself a massage while watching this program!

I currently have cancer (for the 2nd time) and I'm absolutely desperate for a massage and chiropractic treatment, but my Mom seems to think that it could have an effect on the cancer and potentially cause it to spread to other areas, is that something I should worry about?

Massage works in superficial skin level and temporary. Some work for muscle pains. However, massage can aggrevate spine and disc issues. Msg can't correct structural issues like pelvic distortion, twitch scoliosis, translation and rotation of vertebrae, LLD, etc which cause knee, hip, back, neck pains. For this, you need to take steopathy and chiropractic treatments. Msg therapists are not doctors. They can't diagnose.

Massage therapists aren't research scientists or cellular biologists. I'd argue a massage therapist is more likely to be biased towards speaking in favor of the benefits, as they have a direct financial incentive to do so. To have any confidence in claims of benefits, you need an appropriately powered study with controls...which most massage therapists aren't trained to conduct.

Massage Therapists work on the butt/glutes because that area holds a lot of tension (especially in women), which can cause low back pain, tight hamstrings, and other problems. Therapists can work the pec muscles (above the breasts), but should NEVER EVER undrape or touch the breasts or genitals. If they do, then yes, this is sexual assault and the “therapist” should be reported and have their license revoked. Your therapist should ask for your permission to work the glutes/pecs. If they don’t, and it makes you feel uncomfortable, tell them you don’t want them worked on. If you’re seeing a professional therapist, then your comfort/safety is their top priority. You can always speak up - even during the massage if you feel like they’re getting too close to your personal space.

If the massager at the spa is touching ur genitals and private parts then it is likely a rub & tug spa but that is mostly for men not women. A lot of times women can touch men sexually when giving them massage even if the man doesnt want them to and she will get away with sexual assault.
