Young women need an Uncle Brook as well. Unfortunately now a days there are so many perverts you can't trust anybody. He was the star of the movie in my opinion. This movie was EXCELLENT and I bet they had no idea how big it was going to be. It would have made a killing in the theater.

Matt McClary this is just my opinion but I think they should do a sequel to the movie or do a 13 episode series (similar how FX made "The People vs OJ"). The said themselves that there's a lot of The NE Story that they decided not to put in the movie due to time constraints.

Teej Major Eh I think it was a good movie. Just long enough to be good. If they make a series about it after already having made the movie it would get played out quick and would be focused mainly on Bobby Brown or Boyz 2 Men which then it wouldn't even be about New Edition really

I think the secret to having groups today versus yesteryear is family raising. today's kids doesn't understand the essence of family from broken families and single parents. the family bond and virtue is gone.
@mr.madmanswiss12357 жыл бұрын
DESCIPLE Very true.
@mashgallo7 жыл бұрын
@ DESCIPLE... Kids are products of their environment. We grew up in neighborhoods which were real communities, the same way NE did. Whether it was the projects or not, we hung out at the park or the rec center in our neighborhoods. Families were familiar with each other because we were neighbors, and we treated each other as such, with consideration. With upward mobility, however, the suburbs became popular. Suburbs are different and seem to almost encourage this disconnected way of living. No connection, no consideration. Children raised w/o having to consider others are going to inherently be selfish and can't see the value of community. NE understood and loved community. Ralph would have never taken a solo deal as a kid. He wanted/ needed his friends. He felt, indebted to them, responsible for them. Kids today have no understanding of this. They will choose to be solo each time because the spirit of community is lost on them (and they're our kids!). We need real communities back where we give a d@$m about our neighbor. Then we may just be blessed with a legendary, iconic male group again.
@kimwright63777 жыл бұрын
mashgallo So true,I pointed this out in a comment I made somewhere else how the Mothers were "grown" women in the pj's.And they even seemed to have a bond like family.Thats how it was when I was growing up in the pj's.There were'nt just single young women with kids and young guys selling drugs in the pj's there were families and bonds.And nowadays Mom's don't even know one another.Your kids can hangout with kids you don't know or their Mothers or fathers.That sense of togetherness is gone among us.

I would say this makes sense but every single member in New Edition was from a single parent home, so.....
@ronniebobbyedition9937 жыл бұрын
New Edition is the last of its kind. The reason is because this style of music is being buried. The powers that be are not interested in soulful music and the stepping. They don't understand it, aren't entertained by it, and can't compete with it. Therefore, they'll try to bury it...and not support it. They'll support hip hop which is what they buy. If you ever look at modern hip hop and r&b stations, a majority of the djs are white...or not black. This is how black history is buried. This is why NE will be the last of its kind. I'm glad I had a chance to experience them, The Jacksons, The Temps, Blue Magic, The Delphonics, Troop, TLC, etc.

I don't know the situation about why they didn't tell Ralph that he was being replaced by Johnny Gill because they thought Ralph was leaving, but if it was done to be spiteful than that was wrong. I hope truly the fellows have truly become close again, because they are all Great members and need each other whether they want to admit it or not.

Loretta Thomas... i can imagine there may have been some saltiness. Ralph was made to appear disgruntled. I know he was there guy, the smart thing to do was CYA, but out of love and respect it should have been approached differently. it was handled immaturely. Likewise, with the bob vote. they could have united & told him we're not voting against bob (although he did need to go!).
@lorettathomas97017 жыл бұрын
I agree Tia Flores. Look at Johnny Gill's recent radio interview this month February. He talked of how he could relate to what Ralph was feeling, and spoke of how he (Johnny Gill) and Mike had an on-going fallen out just recently. The Interviewer says to him why is it that Mike is having all these arguments with everybody? Johnny says I guess because he thinks no one respects him. He wants respect. What I got from that Mike wants to be the boss, and Ralph has stood up to him, and Johnny. I Love the entire group but I'm seeing that Mike causes confusion.

Erika Garnett I think he was giving props about that scene where Ricky spoke on his financial woes and fear of his future with his wife, it was incredible because no one was there for that and the public only thought Bobby to be the troublemaker and drug addict. Sad to say, the reason you don't see the black boy band groups is because of how we raise our children in our community. Everything with our little black children is too grown now. You see 9 year olds girls twerkin. You see 9 year old boys acting like they hustle and bang. Gone are the days of promoting WANTING to get out the hood. The promotion now is being from the hood. In my day, you weren't embarrassed to be from the projects, but you worked to get out and didn't glorify it. And, once you got out, you never forgot how tough it made you, but you didn't promote it. Now, it's all about keeping it hood. Sad, but that's what my black people consider being real now. Having a very good job and a nice house with a black queen wife and black kids and two cars in a decent neighborhood now is considered being white. Trust me, I know from personal experience. Get it all the time from the bruthas that aren't doing anything. Then, I have to hit them with my wife, my kids, my fraternity (KAPsi), my job etc, then out it back on them and say you're exactly what whites want us to be so they can control you. Same with the black boy band thing. Another point is this. I've seen people say it on here. Our music is so intertwined now. There was talk of Bruno Mars being a culture vulture. Well, isn't everyone???? They have taken our culture, and it's an stream. Taylor swift, Arianna, etc. Our true R & B culture is gone. It's almost like it's underground with the likes of Eric benet and D'Angelo types

Sorry to be a little critical, but I thought the profanity and slang being spoken in the movie sounded too much like present day slang , it made me feel like the script was including too much ad-libbing, and I was watching just another BET movie when they weren't performing the songs.

Mike is a snake. Mike trying to down play it. Ralph should have left them because ralph was new edition. Ricky couldn't do ralph part, mike and ronni can't sing. No body looking for them everyone loves Ralph, like Ralph said go do modeling jobs ronni, rickey now can be lead singer. To me they treated Ralph wrong and he did most for the group. They didn't showed a lot but these fools are mad because he wasn't singing for years. They should have treated him much better. And this new album by them (BBD) is trash. Mike always throw shade at Ralph. They talk about him not showing up on shows but they never talk about them not showing up or being late. Ralph did most of the songs, no body looking for ricky unless Ralph singing and the two back up dancers should be grateful. Ralph was the cutest and most talented, he dance just as good or better than ronni, rooni didn't sing and dance. Ralph was always on point with his singing and dancing. He would sing lead and get back in line on point. No one in the group did it. My girl went to their concert and she said it was wack. They can't go on the road in go back and do the old songs without ralph. When Ralph, Bobby and Johnny stated the head of state, honey that was a show. They did the oldie and goodies. Now who in bbd could do the oddies and goodies. I told her I didn't want to go because I don't want to see them. Now if New Edition come to town and Ralph is there I will have front row seat. Bye BBD and stop hating on Ralph.

I don't care what so call new edition fans would say. I knew Mike Bivins was a fake as member before the movie. How he did Ralph Tresvant I never like him and I never will I got everyone CD but BBD's cause of him.
