BBL Drizzy & The Future of AI Generated Music/Visual Art

During the Kendrick Lamar-Drake Feud, Metro Boomin made a beat, which was sampled from a "song" called 'BBL Drizzy.' While catchy, the only problem was that it wasn't fully created by a human being. Rather, it was AI generated through prompts. With a song/sample like this hitting the mainstream and gaining popularity as a trend throughout social media, does this spell out the future of AI Generated music? Though AI will not fully replace our art, it will become integrated, and some aspects of that are scary. If it gets to the point where you can't differentiate whether something was real or not, where does that leave expression?

@@melu0o music tells you something about the person who created it through lyrics and artistic choices, and you can respect the music more knowing that somebody spent time working on it and perfecting it. AI is not a person, so obviously all of those important factors are missing. Music is not just about the notes that are being played as many AI music supports would like to believe.

It's too catchy :( when I first saw it, I went through all the layers of "oh, maybe the recent artist is paying tribute to the era" before finding out it was AI.

We want things with substance, the bbl drizzy thing has substance, because the entire context around it regardless of ai, so we have to Engineer and control the context ai-music tools exist in, this is one approach

Great video! Its funny how I literally just heard BBL DRIZZY today and I didn't event think about it being AI generated. As much as I don't think it will be possible for AI to compete with real artistry, it is definitely getting close. Hopefully it continues to be used for memes and ai cartoon songs instead of whole productions.

I understand your concerns personally but at the same time this has been going on for a while before it even got to this point. take Hatsune Miku for example. Hatsune Miku is a completely fictional character that 10s of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people use the Vocaloid program and write their lyrics, and yet, the songs that get licensed go under the name of Hatsune Miku under whatever label it's under. I think what it really is causing people stress is that people are concerned that AI is going to take their jobs. And I'm absolutely certain that it's never going to happen. I think what people mainly need to be concerned about is when people start using AI to copy the voices of their favorite artists and start doing original songs with them. I know eventually laws or legislation will be created to copyright in a sense a voice or a celebrity as a way to protect their brand in addition to the label that the artist is signed under. I knew the song was made by AI, but it didn't ruin my overall enjoyment of it in addition to me absolutely laughing my buns off. Though I do understand your concerns and they are completely valid, music written by musicians for people is something that's never going to go away anytime soon and won't be replaced by AI. Because I bet you that it'll be the labels that'll look for legislation to be passed to prevent that from happening 'cause That's also gonna take money out of their pockets as well.
