It is not easy for the domestic helper to leave their home and country and work in HK for a long time of over 10 years, especially the one who gets the kids. In one year, The employer may only allow you to return home for a week to gather with your husband and children. Although you can FaceTime with your husband and kids every day, you would miss many memorable memories with them, you can only listen and speak, but not take care or study or play with them. Moreover, the husband has a higher chance of developing secret love due to the lack of excitement of physical contact and sex. Of course, the wife in Hong Kong may have a similar condition. All in all, long-distance relationships start with face-to-face relationships, usually, the feeling of the couple is helpless and they don't want to leave each other. The reason that they come to Hong Kong to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week is only money. They are poor and want money to grow their children and provide them with a better environment.
