Bboy Shigekix has been confirmed for the Japanese Olympic team. With crazy beatkills, next-level control, smooth power and solid footwork, he is a bboy without any weaknesses.
What do you think? Is Shigekix going to get the gold or is another bboy going to sneak it from him? Sound off in the comments.

Yeah, assuming that there is breaking at the Olympics in 2032, he would still be young enough to compete. Crazy getting that level at his age.

Agree with thr other comment. Just going by pure stats/battle record alone, Top 3 should be guaranteed. Eye test wise, I can see a number of competitors eliminating him early. (Hong 10, Amir, Lee, Phil, Victor, Dany, Lithe-ing can steal his spot on the podium)

Yeah, we saw that with Flea Rock, Shigekix hadn't quite got into his groove and ended up taking the L when FR busted a round with a completely new flava. I could see a similar thing happening at the Olympics with someone like Amir, Phil or Dany because those guys can sometimes come up with some wild styles and moves.

Although Lithe-ing is dope, he lacks that element of surprise to me at least. I think he's dope, but mostly it's styles, flows and moves that I've seen before just done at a very high level. I also think Hong10 would be a W for Shigekix as Hong suffers from the fact that everyone has seen him so many times he'd need something insane to surprise anyone these days, lol.

Man, super bummed for shige. Firmly believe he would have won silver/bronze in an easier group😭 Phil vs Shige was a close 2-1 in favor of phil to me

Yeah, I knew as soon as he drew Phil that it was going to end badly, Phil is always Shige's kryptonite.

Shigekix should have gone harder with Lithe-ing IMO. Finishing second in his group gave him a much harder run to the finals. I think Shige's style matches a lot nicer with Amir and Dany than Menno and Phil.

@@AsiaDanceScene that's a good point yeah. But group A though!! It's incredibly tough just to get pass early stage lithe-ing and hiro10

He's in a good shape and able to get to top 3 but the problem is, everyone already knows his moves and wouldn't be as surprised as in 2020 BC One. I don't expect to see much more moves left in the pocket. While his abilities are amazing, creativity isn't the strongest one and nearly everything is scripted. It's sad especially considering his perfomances in 2020-2021 - he was more loose, had more whip (subjectively) and danced more. Don't know much about the judging system though: what will count the most. Expectations are, we're about to see a skill contest rather than a classic bboy battle. The majority of audience simply won't understand. Either way, for the past couple of years we've seen some rising prospects and serious rivals to Shigekix (in terms of skills). You know the names already.

I worry about that too. A lot of the Olympic qualifiers had some wack music that was basically just an 8-eight with a guitar. When the music is simple like that, it is harder for guys like Shigekix who used beat kills to get their moments than guys that have very choreographed styles. He also suffers a bit from most of his big moves being pretty well known, whereas guys like Amir and Phil Wizard may well have some big surprise to bring out that could make the difference in the big battles.

Yeah the music in bfg/qos events had been ass for even bboys like zoopreme/lussy sky to dance to @@AsiaDanceScene

These are basically the moves that Raygun did.

You mean the foundational steps, right? Yeah, things like the six steps, toprocks, headspins etc are similar to all dancers.

@@AsiaDanceScene Hehe sorry bro. I was being sarcastic. Just joking. My comment was a sarcastic way of saying Raygun was horrible and these guys are the best of the best.
