I don't think Judo's reason for excluding Bingo was because entirely she saw her as a "threat" so to speak. I grew up with neighbors who had one kid that was my age and another 2 who were a few years younger, a lot of times it was difficult to not get frustrated when the younger 2 tagged along as it was harder for me to relate to them or play games we both understood. Judo wanted someone to play with who would be easy to get along with especially since we can assume she wasn't as experienced with making friends. But what you said applies too for sure.

I just want to add that just because a character is unlikable, that doesn't mean they're a bad character. Bad characters aren't well developed, and as a result the audience has difficulty grasping what they're like. Judo started out as unlikable, but(especially in Season 3) she's been given development to the point where we understand certain things both about her and the factors that may contribute to her being the way she is. So, did she at least start out as very unlikable? Yes. Was she ever a bad character? To me, no. Hope you're feelin' better, dude. Even if it's just a tad.

I understand why you'd take this stance because there is a lot of stuff coming to light about bronies or who ever finding their victims vea said fandom. When really it's alot of neurodivergent people who have no interest in kids. Don't get me wrong predators will take advantage of everything just to find victims. Which is why we need to update how we teach kids about online predators. And also not let kids who aren't ready have free rage access to the internet. It's sad when kids do fall victim but I think it's stupid to say fandoms for kid shows shouldn't exist. Your thoughts on this is quite interesting. I am familiar with the Judo "type" and yes I think you nailed some good points and I'll further back some of them with facts / details. 1. Judo is probably one of the oldest "kids" in Bluey. As an older kid they're going to spend less time with younger kids (hence fewer episode appearances) and having an even younger kid (Bingo) around makes other think you're their age which at the seven or eight year old might be a bit much. 2. She is most definitely an only child and yes the fact she is also from a single parent home, generally speaking the parents gives that child as much as they can, so they grow up not needing to do as much 3. So yes Wendy probably insisted that both families get connected - as a single parent having a neighbour that cares about your kid is important, especially say you need babysitting at the last minute 4. If we delve deeper we can also expect that perhaps Wendy has to "be" at the same or ideally better class than the Heeler's, which of course is why some shenanigans are a bit much. Anyway once again thanks for your thoughts was a fun romp with least loved character. Keep it up!

About the friend, I can understand where she is coming from. I was also jealous when I seee my friends talk to each but I say nothing to keep conflict away. Judo’s general attitude I believe is learnt from her Mum Wendy. Wendy can be pretty judgemental at times. Usually when the Heeler crew are mucking around Wendy’s reaction are usually of shock and annoyance. I think that has filtered down to Judo, cause kids are like sponges. But over time Wendy has softened, and she sees that Judo misses out of things because she is strict with her. So Wendy let’s go of her judgemental and controlling nature and find ways to be a good neighbour and encouraging Mum, like the time she helped Bingo and Bluey get their ice creams from the corner shop, and clipping Judo’s fur so she could play in the dirt pile with Bingo and Bluey.

Im an only child and while I was already pretty introverted as a kid I still had a few close friends I hung out with and one day one of my close friend started hanging out with a new person, naturally, I got jealous, theyre my closest friend and it made me sad that they enjoyed another persons company more than mines at the time, those feelings of sadness turned to bitterness, tbh I started acting like a little prick to that person, I never did anything bad to them but it was obvious I didnt like them (ex would be is I would show my tongue at them) I knew what I was doing was wrong but I couldn't help myself (and tbh I think the reason was because one of my caretakers back then was encouraging me to stay bitter) Eventually, my friend realized what was happening and paid attention to me, eventually, me and the new girl got along and actually made fun memories together, unfortunately tho the friendship didnt last long as we all got older and grew apart from eachother could see stuff from Judos perspective more clearly. Jealousy can take over do much that sometimes you tend to do things that are mean to someone even if your aware it is. Of course im not excusing her and mines actions at all, but I can definitely feel what Judo felt now

As an only child, I actually relate to Judo a lot. Growing up, I had no siblings to spend my time with, I was usually alone and did only the stuff I wanted to do. So whenever I was supposed to play with other kids, I didn't really know how to make friends with anyone + I didn't quite understand that not everyone is gonna go with the stuff I want to do (as I was used to it), so I was very impatient with others and just dismissed them. Not to mention that it's no secret that her parents are most likely divorced, and as implied in the Sticky Gecko episode, Judo sometimes leaves her mom's house to spend some time with her dad. Since she changes places a lot, then she most likely has some trouble making friends (because of her impatience and onlychild issues). As many only children do, she might also have a problem with attachment issues since she might not have many friends. Bluey might be her only friend at the beginning of her first episode and I can assure you from my own experience, that I would also get protective of my friend, if I was worried they'll stop hanging out with me for someone else (which could be Bingo in Judo's situation) Not to mention that she's a kid, not an evil irredeemable villain.

Another reason she could have not wanted to play with Bingo. I bet when she grows up she'll be the kid who's friends with others who are a grade or two above her, I know I was always friends with kids who were at least two years older than me. Also mentioning her dad, you're right we don't know what happened to him, maybe he died when she was little so Wendy never got to have other kids and give Judo any siblings so Wendy spoiled her, or maybe they divorced and in the episodes we don't see Judo she's with her dad. it breaks my heart when people say they hate Judo. she shows signs of autism (like how she didnt even realize when she was playing her phone game that Bluey and Bandit werent having fun or even participating). and she's a literal child, lol. she's learning and growing. if you'd hate a fictional child for acting like a child, you'd be likely to hate a real one for acting like a child, too. every mean thing that she does can be explained by her home life (she's clearly a child of divorce), copying her mother (telling Pompom 'youre too small', something her mother must say to her), and generally not realizing/understanding things (like the phone game). she's not unredeemable, she learned from each of these events.

One curious thing about Judo. We see that she was a baby in the same Mums Group as Bluey, but so were Coco and Snickers - and we don't ever really see those two hanging out with her. So the theory that she doesn't really have other friends despite having the opportunities might hold some water.

I had a neighbor like Judo when i was 12. she was 10 and being an only child wanted to hang out constantly. except i had two little sisters who were around her age, whom she never wanted to hang out with. She has the same traits as judo despite me being the odd one out age wise like bingo. her parent's were divorced and her mom was not in a good place so she was unbeknownst to me, kind of neglected. i felt for her soon after understanding her situation and seeing Judo hit hard for me

I know a lot of people consider Judo and also Wendy bullhead but that's literally a huge part of the breed personality of chows and with other breed tidbits I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the play here. I do keep forgetting to see if her tongue is blue though 😂! I know of the rumor that her parents are divorced and it makes sense in general but it especially adds to Judos personality. It's hard to connect with people if you're not consistently there especially as a child who is still learning those skills. Plus who's to say if her her parents are divorced her dad doesn't have a different family. That can affect how she connects with other kids too.

9:38 I really liked Judo in ‘Dirt’ as it shows her wanting to play with Bingo & Bluey (in messy dirt no less) but still trying to respect her mother’s wishes in not getting dirty & her mum in turn fixing this by doing something that ultimately makes them both happy.

Why I can agree at first I think they were just trying to set something up with with her but they probably just use her for the plot or something like that but then they later decided to change that and to actually make her a character or at least have her change over the time because I think they had so many other characters to think about so they just had to see what they can come up with but here we are now and I'm starting to say she has grown on me

I think Judo's parents are divorced and in the episode Sticky Gecko, I noticed that Chilli said "You haven't seen her in a long time." So, I think she meant that she has been at her dad's house for a long time. So, I really hope we get some info on Judo's dad.

With everything you just said, I can see an episode titled “The Truth About Judo” in which Judo opens up on why she acts the way she does, and even shares an ultra tender moment with Bluey where she would cry onto Bluey’s shoulder and redeem herself with Bluey and Bingo

I feel like Judo's family dynamic represents more of a "structured" household, where properness and established rules slowly begin to encourage sacrificing your wants for what makes sense or is the logical choice. That's why Judo's Mom is always reacting in such an "uptight" way to the Heeler's antics, because it isn't proper play or proper behavior. This could also be why Judo seems so off-put by the time Bingo takes to become a butterfly, because making people wait is disrespectful, which is also why Chilli is so obsessed with being on time in Sticky Gecko. Being led by Judo's Mom, Judo is learning how to be a proper, respectful young woman. Judo's Mom encourages Judo to keep her coat clean, to the point where even when Judo's Mom is ready to accept that the extra bit of cleaning will be worth it for the fun Judo will have, Judo decides to not have fun for the sake of the rules. It's in seeing this reaction from her daughter that makes her worry that Judo might be losing her childhood, and takes drastic measures herself to help get Judo out of her mindset so she can have the fun she should. I think the writing team should lean into this "slow breaking out of the structured home stereotype" over time for Judo and her family. We can all tell as viewers that the Heelers are a great family, but understanding how to get ourselves there from where we are individually is another question. There's an opportunity here to be a lighthouse; they can see the light, now help them guide themselves by the light to a safer place. And have this all happen as the secondary story on a show for kids that has 8 minute episodes.

Judo being a bad character? Nah even if she was a bad person which she is not that wouldn't make her a bad character. it's like when people hate on Peggy from KOTH except even more egregious cause she did one bad thing and she is a kid. Edit: even bad people can be good characters. Like Duck Man or Tony saprano.

In the Dirt Episode, Judo is actually playful, as she wants to play with Bluey in the Dirt. As in Most Episodes other than Dirt, she is very much mean.

tbh I didn't even know people didn't like Judo (because I really don't engage much in the fandom). also I am actually glad even tho the characters can be mean sometimes they are generally overall very nice, which is such a breath of fresh air to not have a constant bully character. Even tho I understand that is more real, but Bluey doesn't have to be more real. Even when I was a kid I never enjoyed the shows with a stereotypical bully. So all around I rather not they go a route where people, especially reacquiring kid characters are mean all the time.
@Miminyamnyam Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, I find judo a relatable character, because she is not the sweetest, most adorable, nice, charming character. Gen z has always been like: Oh attachment issues are not bad, being mean accidentally is not bad, anger issues are not bad, but when they saw judo, a character that is more likely to a hated person irl, they freaked out saying how rude she is, just because she was mean to bingo or because she wasn't the nicest the whole time, yet nobody understood that bluey was her ONLY friend, making her overprotective because she most probably didn't want to loose bluey as a friend, she probably has gone trought a hard time having not much people to have fun with making her like that. I personally dont think she hates bingo totally, she just saw her as someone who would want to stop her from being blueys friend. The only thing i think judo needs is to get to know nobody is gonna stop her, and a friend that also doesn't have much friends, they would both have only time for eachother.

I'll admit seeing Judo for the first time I didn't really like her but then I thought about her more. She's kinda like Alberto from Luca. She has kind of a know it all personality and can be kinda selfish and possessive at times but we see why she's like that, how she learns from it, and it makes her better as a character. 😊 Also keep in mind. She's just a KID. Kids can be just like her and learn not to be that way too. I stand by my word when I say there's NO bad episodes of this show nor are any of the characters bad.

Judo doesn't deserve the unpleasant words. This is what I dislike the most of all about the Bluey fandom and while I’m against fandoms of characters like judo in kids shows altogether. In my opinion Judo is starting to redeem herself, as we have seen especially in season 3. Just because a character is unlikable doesn't mean they're a bad character. just because a character is unlikable, that doesn't mean they're a bad character. did she at least start out as very unlikable? Yes. Was she ever a bad character? in my opinion, no never making her "too nice" might not be the greatest direction.Having everyone kind and loving is not the most realistic perspective.I hopefully we see more of Judo, Judo is one of my favourite characters and I feel like there's more pressure growing on her, she doesn't have any friends besides Bluey.she's more than just a cute design. she should have a way to stand out other than just her design. Some people under the replies will say she stands out by being not the kindest character,But I disagree. That make's her less noticed.Judo is like when animals hibernate for the winter. She stay's for a while. And then goes away for a while.it's grounded in reality.I would like to add that I live in Georgia. So the new episodes aren't out for me yet. I'll be patient As I'm pretty sure they're coming very soon! Judo is a great character and deserves the episode she got.

Random fact, Judo and Wendy should have blue tongues! Why? Because Chow Chows (and shar peis) have blue tongues! This was bred into them because the Ancient Chinese dog breeders thought the blue tongue would protect the dog's owners from evil spirits.

I like Judo and always have. Some kids just don’t know how to relate to and include younger kids. As for Bingos birthday and her not being there…. I WAS SO MAD that episode. It’s her birthday, HER birthday and no one can take time to play with her?! Only her nana? No one has any clue where she even is until cake time. And none of the kids from her kindy are there only the ones from Blueys class. Didn’t anyone invite any of BINGO’S friends to HER party? I hate that episode. It’s the only one I would scrub from cannon given the option
