I put the exact same gasket on my 1150, keeps in the smoke and quiet when you close the lid. It’s a good upgrade.
@AnotherOverTaxedTaxPayer2 жыл бұрын
Yes, keeps the smoke in, but more important........ Keeps the wind out.

Did you have to put washers on the hinges?
@reddog9072 жыл бұрын
@@arthurgray190 No sir , it did not affect the lid at all.

Skip to 11:30 if you just want to see application of seal and not 11 minutes of him cleaning the grill.
@RossMalagarie3 жыл бұрын
Another OverTaxed TaxPayer you may want to call Pit Boss as they have a new firmware update for the PID for the 1150, it helps hold temps, and adds 10 degrees of temp adjustment from 200F-300F, and adds 25 degrees adjust at any temp above 300F. They will email you shipping labels, you ship your PID and they "flash" it to update it. Should be a 7-10 day turn around.

I've been having the same issue. Good to know. Thanks!

Plus I’ve seen removal of the temp probe cover helps a bunch. There’s a guy on here that sells a plate that helps cover the gap between the barrel and heat shield on the hopper side. It’s like $35 shipped. It’s sold on Smokeslikeaboss.com

Hot air blowing on the probe usually cause major temp swings

I install the same stuff onto my 1100 and now she is smoke leak free. I also used some food grad high temp sealant in a tube on the nuts inside the barrel and hinges inside the barrel where I also had some smoke escape. Great video!!! Smoke on!!

I seem to be getting a lot of dust blowing out of the catch tray on to the bottom tray. It just doesn’t seem to seal correctly. Any ideas
@AnotherOverTaxedTaxPayer Жыл бұрын
what brand pellets? Do you empty the ingnitor catch tray every now and then? Sounds like aweful pellets OR not empting the ignitor catch tray often enough. However, if it has been very windy, then there aint nothing you can do about it. Keep in mind that every pellet grill will have some dust blowing.... can't compleatly eliminate it.

I also have the 1150, Pitboss told me that the issue I'm have with reaching temps between 200-300 is a control board issue.

I am having that issue. Will you keep me informed?

How long do you typically cook brisket? Do you wrap it in butcher paper and smoke it?
@AnotherOverTaxedTaxPayer3 жыл бұрын
12 to 13 hours until it reaches temp. Yes for butcher paper and smoking.

Nice work! Thinking about doing the same thing but wouldn’t you still leak some smoke from the hole the probes go into?
@AnotherOverTaxedTaxPayer3 жыл бұрын
Minimal
@UlisesPalacios3 жыл бұрын
It should be mounted on the grill not the lid supposedly. I mounted mine on the lid and the right side wouldn’t seal. Maybe my lid is wrapped
