I live in Africa and when I came across your videos I was amazed by your achievements, frankly it's impressive, I would like to make an American offset type smoker barbecue.

Fantastic!!!! Did you find the info sheet in the box? I always worry that guys will miss that. It's really very simple process after you know how to do it. I hope you enjoy it!!!! Thanks, Mike

I haven't done a cook top on a smoker before, but I have done my Blackstone cook top. When the surface has rust on it like yours did, I use a random orbit sander to get down to the bare metal. All "random" orbit sanders are round (orbital sanders can be square) so you have to use something to get into the corners. I love your videos, and have enjoyed you over the years getting more comfortable with the camera, and sounding more competent. Keep up the great work!

Hi Mike. I believe I have now watched all of your cooker build videos and have really enjoyed the quality of your builds as well as your instructions. Did I miss a video on firebox build or trailer build? Thanks again!
@mysticsmokers3014 Жыл бұрын
The trailer build will be coming soon. I had to put the video project aside for a bit while I knock out some deadlines. Payjng jobs take priority. Lol. I'll be building a 10 fireboxes in a couple of weeks. Ill make sure to make a video of that if you think it would help sone guys out.

Nice video. Question though. Could you build the door end cap first before you install it to the barrel or do you risk warpage? It would seem easier to align the ramp to the handle.
@mikencrcf60182 жыл бұрын
Great question!!! It would indeed make adding that ramp easier. Luckily, the ramp weld itself is quick. I am convinced that welding the face plate in place first is the way to go. I'm sure it would pull out of "flat" if it were not intact during the welding process to the pipe. That's a boatload of weld and I cannot emphasize enough to take your time and complete that process in many short welds alternating sides and allowing it to cool after three or four welds. I spend about two hours joining that plate. Obviously, not all at one sitting. Its easy to warp that 24 inch plate. I'm very careful with the hinge welds as well. Keeping things cool is the trick.

Mike, would you mind showing how you layout the door and make your plunge cut.

Here is the layout video. There is a door cutting video as well in the same playlist. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b17KpJlrmLyMgdU

@@mysticsmokers3014 I mean for the firebox door lol. I was wanting to watch you figure out your cut lines after you seal weld the fire box.

What size is the pipe for the fire box
@mysticsmokers30142 жыл бұрын
24"×31"×3/8" wall thickness. Its a beast.

You could sell the 2 different kits, one with, and one without the ramp piece, so your customers would have a choice wether or not they want to pay the extra price for the ramp piece.
@mysticsmokers30142 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's the logical route. I'll add that option as an item to the website today. Good idea!!! Thanks

Great video and great product, but may I offer one comment concerning audio? Please listen to your speaking portions and when you are sticking your tongue to the roof of your mouth. I know it's petty, but I've learned from experience in the past that it can have a negative affect on some listeners/viewers. I'm only trying to help, not criticize, so please don't take this as anything personal. Again, love the products.
