Signal Corps BC348-Q, Single-Ended Tubes version. B29 Enola Gay that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima Japan was equipped with ART13 transmitter and BC348 receiver. 00:49-Shortwave broadcasts, 4:00-SSB, 5:41-CW BC348 operates on 28Vdc with dynamotor, but working quietly. Fantastic receivers. I have 2 of the single ended and 4 of the double ended tube type. After searching for years I finally tracked down a mint example with a dynamo only last weekend. Finally!

Nice receiver, I'm currently working on a (BC-348) that the previous owner hacked the heck out of. I replaced all of the resistors, capacitors including the metal can type. I found out the following, those metal can type caps are super leaky, a few of the black mica mold caps have dead shorts! and the wiring shorted or not connected. Now I'm time to peak the IF and perform the RF alignment. Will upload a few videos soon. Thanks for the video!

Very Nice Radio and enjoyed the video! I have one that started as a Model C by RCA but was modified by Belmont to a Model S. Has both original model plates on it. Works fine.

I have one of these originals with the dynamotor. What is the proper juice to run into the machine from a variac (I believe you were running 27.5, but I just want to double check). Also, which prongs do I attach the alligator clips to on the back of the receiver? Thanks in advance good sir!

i bought one off e-bay & it turned out to be NOS with dynamotor, so i bought another intending to 'practice' with it & keep the other pristine & it also has dynamotor & is not modified.
