Best tree cutting training series on KZbin. Watch ALL of them even if you are a homeowner. You'll see why, and you'll learn about being SAFE and efficient. The Canadians have this stuff down, as of course they should.

Very good. I've completely changed how I cut. I've been in industry for 15 years. Watching the feller and his process is a real eye opener. Well done.

I wish the series went into more depth about the notch, the depth, angle etc. and the back cut. I only caught bonus info on the videos of the trees that were leaning. I noticed in this video, they notched opposite of how it’s done with an axe vs chainsaw. This old video they cut the notch from the top-downward into the straight cut. On all the others the angle of the notch goes from the bottom, upwards, to the straight cut. And what the heck is “ barber-chairing”? I have an idea, but this isn’t an activity to be guessing at. Great overall series! Appreciate you folks posting it. Thank you.

Barber chair is when the tree fails vertically rather than going in the intended direction. The tree literally splinters on its own weight. It is how sawyers die. Look it up on KZbin, there are some pretty incredible examples.

Those old McCulloch's with the two handles for the operator and a bell housing handle on the business end of the bar (3:58)? I held that end a few times when I was a kid... and I was scared shitless most all the time. Maybe I had a right to be!

I don't see feminist fighting for equal pay here. We "need" to make the work force in the industry more balance and create a more "woman friendly" atmosphere. After all women deserve equal pay if not equal work. LOL
