I remember when I was 9 years old, our parents traveled to Victoria. I had an amazing experience. First off, the sea was beautiful. Later, we went to the buffet. The foods are so good that my parents finish one plate in less than 5 minutes!

Fantastic video! I'm planning a trip to Vancouver in September and booked a trip on the Coastal celebration ferry from Vancouver to Victoria. I plan to do walk on without a vehicle. I remember trying out this buffet for lunch a couple years ago before COVID-19 hit us. It was a great buffet. I really miss it. I was surprised at the decadent cakes they had offered! In fact, I like all the items. For $20, it was a steal of a deal especially on a ferry.

Been on that ferry so many time when my parents were alive and always took in the buffet mostly breakfast one, except when the Okanagan Sun Football team cleaned the buffet out, they did not make enough food and closed early.

Hey Susan...certainly liked having a buffet on the ferry, exactly like one has on a cruise 😋. many people tend to take a day trip to Victoria so they would go on the ferry in the morning and come back on the evening. I hope they resumed normal service once things get back to the way they were 🙂

Hi Davonn, hope you're doing well! I can't be sure about canopies but I don't think it'll be extra is not oversized...I notice for larger vehicles, they charge per axil ... Depending on the route and time of day, routes are pretty frequent, but if you need to be there at a specific time, reservations can be made... which I normally do when I'm driving and it's a holiday weekend...well worth the reservation cost 🙂. Hope this helps

Hey lady4548, an early welcome to you! It's only for about 1 to 2 minutes. Active Pass, the rough part, is between two islands, and quickly passes by. The ferries are quite large and stable so I wouldn't worry about sea sickness. It should be a pleasant ride

Very good you asked! The buffets are only available on the"spirit" class of ferries. They will have the word Spirit in the name of the ship. Definitely check their website for sailing times and the features on the particular ship. Glad you have a chance to check it out🙂. Hope you have a great time!

People should be warned that if they use their hand to pick up any kind of food from the trays will be kicked out of the Buffet, this is wrong. Contamination by people touching the food is a big source of food poisoning, besides how do we know if the culprit wash his or her hands after going to the restroom? After you help yourself, then you can touch the food in your plate as much as you want.

Many times there are some very disrespectful people that don't care about spoiling other people's good time: I hear a baby crying and nothing is been done about it, this is disgraceful, their parents should have the decency to leave and change the baby's diapers or maybe the baby is sick and they care less, or the baby is hungry and they care less …. are they so stupid that don't see that the baby has a problem to be taken care of and at the same time they don't see that they are ruining the buffet for everybody else??? THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES such as people serving themselves much more than the eat and leaving a lot of food that goes to waste …. they should be penalized for this, they should pay extra for what they leave in their plates. Or people that destroy the food that its been displayed for everyone enjoyment, by using their hands instead of utensils or just sneezing and coughing on top or pushing and destroying the presentation. The buffet supervisor should have some authority to approach them and make them aware or even kick them out in cases that are extremely disruptive. There should be a minimum norm of conduct to keep the place relaxing, peaceful, clean, safe, so every decent person could enjoy the Buffet. You can't educate people in ten minutes, but you could in-force the rule of conduct that everyone know or should know. Fortunately these tugs are just a few punks, but still can make the environment very unpleasant for most people.
