BC Rail Action! - Prince George CN Interchange

Brave Prince George's cold winter and catch the action at the BCR / CN Interchange north of BCR's PG yard! Catch a rare BCR locomotive in action along with RS18C's and SD40-2's. Lived in Prince George from Oct 2002 to Oct 2005, I spent a ton of time there and overlooking the bridge taking photos. Never took one video but had thousands of pics. I never get tired watching this video - have been watching it for years. One of my favourites that shows the diversity of the power on the BCR. Great stuff.

Well you're partially right. Some sd40-2's survived but they weren't BCR original ones. Roads like KCCX and Oneida and Western sd40-2's went to HLCX. All Canadian style SD40-2 got scrapped except for BCR 758, it went to Montreal Maine and Atlantic. All the M420W's survived. 4 of them is on the OSRX.

well I think it's because they were a heavy grade railway so it makes sense that they would wear out earlier

@ATributeToBCRail i love these vids and i live in williams lake bc i remember when bc rail ruled the area and do you think it was good that cn bought out bc rail or not beacuse i loved those old bc rail locomotives

It is, I dont see why CN scrapped the SD40-2s

Its sad that every locomotive in there except the dash 9 and dash 9 have been either retired or scrapped

why were all the slugs on the BCR always on the front of the mother unit?

Idk maybe just surplus power and to much of a hassle to repaint
