thanks for uploading this gem, BCOL lives forever in my heart

BCRail.. They were a golden age of railroading in western Canada that I can only grieve knowing I was never there to see it.. and now that history is beginning to fade away.. an icon of BC now fell, all because the lovely things called corruption and politics. From the Pacific Great Eastern... to the British Columbia Railway. Their iconic K5H horns will live on to those who've heard them in action.

man I miss seeing BC rail and older CN/BC rail units go past my house with those beautiful red government of Canada grain cars being pulled behind them now most of them are switchers or sitting to be scraped or just sitting there out of service ;( 🚂
@OfficialSEIC2K62 жыл бұрын
BC Rail still runs under CN rule. Even though their rolling stock may be getting scrapped. Many more will be preserved. BC Rail rolling stock still alive with CN.

Some of bc rails fleet still survives in modern times, Older company’s like Southern pacific are often called heritage units now, Due to there railroads getting replaced, Some fleet getting repainted and upgraded to modern units, Some getting scrapped, Or what we call an heritage unit, An locomotive keeping its old colour patch, Such as BC rail or Southern Pacific.
@RANDOMGUY-ty3ze Жыл бұрын
I suppose that many of the units remaining are in good enough condition to continue service, but it is unlikely they'll last much longer.

After the CN takeover, I saw locomotives in BC rail colours on the CN mainline west of Edmonton. I've even seen pictures of them working in Atlantic Canada.

They were somewhere in Ontario but they've been moved to Illinois for scrapping [most of them at least]

Bad ass edit. The Tears for Fears track tied it all together. We all have sentimental ties to these railroads and the edit drives that home. I have another larger channel and selecting music that you really want is a bitch.(Monitization, copyright, etc) I got really good vibes! Keep it up 💯! This was not easy to edit, but you pulled it all together with the news stories and mix of vintage and modern footage. I'm gonna go buy a BC Rail Loco for my BC Rail themed layout now😂. 👍 Starting the track with footage of the 86 Expo was killer. I felt that shit!

same with anything north of Prince George, and the Tumbler sub
@RANDOMGUY-ty3ze Жыл бұрын
@@finnlikestrains5770 As far as I know, Tumbler Ridge, while it did turn a profit at first, slowly became unable to produce a profit which eventually played a part in BC Rail's unfortunate downfall. Plus, I'm not certain that any of the trackage above Williams Lake is inactive, because A: CN connected that segment of the railway to Vancouver via their mainline, and B: I don't have enough information to make an accurate conclusion. But, thankfully despite the massive clusterfuck that was the lease to CN, the only train that still runs the entire route is the Rocky Mountaineer tourist train which at least gives the train tracks some use during the summer.

Got to laugh at the commenter including asbestos reserves in the list of minable resources. I think that would be better off left in the ground.
