Hi! Why you pref ad support item instead of the ap one? I guess it's because you get more benefit from aa on early after engage than the ap scaling, but not totally sure yet

Preseason, Abyssal Mask is replaced by a true mythic, the Evenshroud. It basically took the Mask immobilizing part, added mythical bonuses.

You forgot to mention the R that hits instant (changing the direction), Maokai combos (in this case there are several, and it depends on the situation)

Had the same idea… idk why he goes shouldergards instead. Dead mans plate’s damage scales of base ad so steel shouldergards should never be better than relic

Picked him up when I came back to the game last year. Been mostly using ap to good results but not always the best use I knew a lot of these tricks but even then the build I couldn’t have thought of myself Tried it in 3 games and won every one. Yeah this was great. I see Diamond at least next season if I imply this

Question, as I am a Maokai main, and I usually build e first for laneing phase, since it’s crazy poke. I don’t max it but I use that and biscuits. Does that work?

Usually w or q is first upgrade because level 2 engage is reallyyyyy strong. If they have a strong level 2 engage, then you need to be able to defend it, and the knock back (q) + point and click root (e) is very VERY good. And vice versa it is good engage level 2 especially if you have the level advantage. Not to mention your passive healing gives a substantial amount of heal which can be very crucial in gettting first blood. I'm gonna assume youre a lower elo (no offense) because 1) the e + q combo is just too good to not take initially and b) e is also used to ward bushes too and usually the enemy jungler won't be bot lane until youre level 3 anyways. The only time i really recommend going e first is if their support is like a passive enchanter and not an engager and if your adc doesnt want to fight and is a scaling adc or if you know that their jungle will probably be bot very early.

I was on this, botany fix, playing the likes of Zyra, Maokai and Ivern supports, and Maokai is by far my worst one. Nothing feels worse than rooting the enemy as your jg is coming and your Tristana adc leaps towards our tower instead of the enemy
