I am proud to say that I played snare in the band at NC A&T; thus, I know quality sound!!! At this point in time, BC is the standard of excellence and rocks like no other band on the planet!!! This was simply beautiful and very well done!!!

If you took a little time to read, you would see that this performance during the shooting of the movie Drumline. This was a private performance for the extras who were in the stands for the shooting of the movie.

@JessOnTheRun dude this is amazing. there is technique in this. also since this is r&b tune there's not much you can do with a song like this. for a HBCU band this amazing. also the camera does have something to do with the sound. this was shot way before we had HD technology. if you only heard this band in person you would think different

@InoYamanaka7 Slow your roll playa. This was just the slow song from their show that hey performed for the crowd during the shooting of the movie Drumline. Just because your loud doesn't make it good. Musicianship and dynamics is always a must, especially with a MEAC band. Trust me, Bethune is probably the best there is in the HBCU world. It's a slow jam, not a RAPE tone, LOL. Soft, smooth, dynamically correct...MUSIC!!!

@pr192001 Much respect to UAPB. One of my favorites and definitely is a force to deal with but I still give the total package to BCU. But UAPB is definitely in my top 7.

One of the best marching band ballads of all time. My only quibble: trumpets, when playing the chorus, should play legato, no articulation. Let it flow. Still, it is a beautiful arrangement. Those massive chords, bittersweet and powerful!

What's the name of the song they performed on the drumline movie. Can't find it!
@bkrider199 жыл бұрын
Chyrnobil, the original of this song is by Musiq Soulchild, and the title is "Love." You can get it on youtube of course. Unfortunately it is not in "Drumline."

I think I didn't answer your question. I'm not sure which song in "Drumline" you mean. Do you have a link to it so I can hear it?

The only snippet of BCU in the movie Drumline was of them playing "Let's Go" I believe. All the bands did a full halftime show for the crowds when they were shooting but only a snippet of each was shown.

I swear... I LOVE this song... and I think the only reason I do is cause of this arrangement and the way The Pride played it. Do y'all hear that moving line by the baritones, mellow and tenors (middle voice)???????????? Lawd

I liked this version over FAMU's. Really dark and unrushed. However, NSU's version surpasses them both

@InoYamanaka7 See that's the problem with people that don't have true musicality. You can't do LOUD all the time. A truly great band knows just how to use dynamic and color to enhance a song. Otherwise it would be like having a conversation with a monotone voice....boring and annoying

why have they not made a move about dci and if they did i dont know anything about it. no one wants to see yall stand in the middle of the field and just play a drum. like the movie said, "halftime is gametime" at HBCU's.
