we can simply subtract number from 100 instead of from 99 and then add 1

sir i was asking not telling , i forgot question mark. i wanted to ask 99-34+1=100-34 so why we need two steps? can't we subtract number from 100 directly. i hope you get that.

not at all in hexadecimal a carry borrowed is 16 not 10, and we are trying to avoid that borrow.

I didnt understand how 92+(-34) is equivalent to 92+10's compt of 34

If we can not substract..how are we substracting 34 from 99?? If we can substract 34 from 99 y not simply substracting the two no.??

+Nainika Singh in 99-34 carry is not borrowed but if you try 53-25 you will get value in hexadecimal. Using 99-34 is only a trick to get 9's complement.
