when a professional pool player strikes a ball , hes still hitting it as accurately as a snooker player. the ball is still travelling on the exact path he intended, regardless of the size of the pockets. the larger pockets allow him to strike the ball on a variety of different paths and still pocket the ball, which gives more positional advantage. if you think these guys are just out there banging away and are being saved by larger pockets youre completely mistaken.

I saw Nick Varner's picture in the promo part of this video at the start, and I saw he was the captain of the US team at the Mosconi Cup too... Does he still play competitively?

Patterns and stroke are all well and good, but creativity and natural talent are sometimes enough to overcome a lack of "fundamental" approaches. Just look at Corey Deuel. Very sound stroke, but sometimes he has to be creative to escape traps. This game isn't all about tactics. But it's a good bet few of us commenting have ever played on that stage or won the US Open. Dissect em if you want, but there is a reason they are there, and you are at home

I agree, but how do these guys feel? Their first round matches are supposed to be easy, instead they draw each other. They're both saying to themselves,"I gotta that guy in my first match?"

I'll play any APA player for cash too. They're all ballbangers. They whine "I need a spot."
