BCM Programming and setup 2016 Silverado

For anyone trying this currently - ACDelco has updated their program to fix the issues that he runs into in the video. ALSO - need to go through an Immobilizer relearn to get the truck to start. There are a few options when selecting the immobilizer relearn within ACDelco TechLine there are a few options depending on if you want to program new keys or not. There is an option for a BCM replacement where it retains the old key setup.

Very informative video! I have a question tho.. Dont you have to program the mileage to the new BCM? I know the mileage is stored in the cluster, but on a scanner it shows to be stored in the BCM as well.. Tia!!

Sam I had a question while reprogramming the BCM. Where is the mileage stored on the truck while doing this program? I have a 2015 2500 Sierra and may have to do this also. I know the older models are stored in the odometer board. Wasn't sure about the newer models. Thanks for the video. Good information.

Hello Sam great video,and great tip on the brake pedal sensor. little off the subject, 2010 Mustang V6, locksmith try to add a key with hotwire programmer couldn't do it, took car to a shop to have the cluster swapped from a 4 gauge 120 mph to a 6 gauge 160 mph, dont ask me why, but shop programmed used cluster with IDS, from that point car never started again, they tried to put original cluster same problem, car was brought to me, try to do parameter reser but when it ask you to turn off key, kicks you out and never do the 10 minute. any help or suggestion will be appreciated, i did try a second donor cluster but still doing the same.

Well, codes would be nice to see. Those can be very helpful as to what could be wrong. I mean a whole system wide scan along with all the codes that return once they're cleared. After that, you can go from there. Not sure what tool you're using to do the PR. Any info would be helpful.

Can you use this process to unlock heated seats. I have added all of the components but need to turn on the option.

Not that I know of. Normally you need an authorization code from gm to add components to the vehicle. Sometimes they just work though

Can you program the bcm on a 2020 silverado? I did a lt headlight and fog light conversion on my 2020 silverado custom and it drains the battery after a few days of sitting. I have the proper harnesses with resistors for the headlights. The dealer programmed the fog lights but say the bcm is staying on due to the led headlights.

How have you determined they are bad? Yes I can program a new bcm. Not sure where you are located.

I live at indiana 3 hours from Detroit Michigan, when I buy this truck at aution was burn at stereo área I did replacement the arnés New from dealer I put a use stereo, when I did try turn on the truck the lights doesnt come on I open the bcm and I see is bad, and I guess the truck get fire inside maybe the fuse box interior is bad too I have already both fuse box and used bcm

Hey Sam BCM issues here. 2018 Durango SRT and I changed the factory radio out for an Alpine unit. Then Boom the radio would go out, the air would blow randomly, couldn't control the windows at all, it's like the car became possessed. Bought a new factory radio, installed it, same thing. Took it to dodge & they declined to work on it because I took the radio out (voided warranty) but told me I needed a new BCM. Any recommendations on some hard-software to program it?

18 durango will need to be done with a J2534 tool and J2534Witech 2.0 or Witech 2.0. No real shortcut on these yet,

Hi, i just changed the BCM of my 2014 chevy silverado and everything was programmed as you did in your video but i still have a DTC in my body control module about configuration, and the EBCM is not working, codes on the EBCM modules are ( B3902 incorrect immobilizer identifier received, U0151 lost communication with inflatable restraint, U0077 control module communication chasis, U0126 lost comunication with steering wheel) I think it must be a setup I have to perform but I can’t find it. Any idea what it can be?? Thanks.

Hey I had a question. Its in regards to BCM, I have a 2016 Tahoe, I installed 2018 Tahoe Headlights, as they have a brighter led bar, wiring is the same on both, they are both halogen, only difference is 2018 models run the LED Light bar as the Daytime running ligh, and the LED bar is brighter, the 2016 ran the halogen bulb as the daytime running light. The 2018 headlight I installed has a brighter LED light bar. I want to run this led light br as the DRL. I purchased a membership to ac delco and have everything setup on my computer with the scan tool. Is it possible for me to reprogram the BCM like the 2018 ls model? I have my vin, and a vin of the same spec 2018 model, but obviously the newer headlights.

If you can purchase as an upgrade from gm parts they will have a authorization code.

@@Exploringthemagic I suspected that. You are missing my point. If it can be purchased as an upgrade from parts department. You should be able to purchase a authorization code or call acdelco and get help. If it can't be purchased from parts I do not have any idea how to fix
