I actually appreciate how simplistic this first AK video is. The first time I ever handled an M1A was at LE qualifications. Had just gotten to my duty site, and we headed out to the range. They handed me a Glock 22, 870 & an M1A and sent me out to the firing line. Qualified with the Glock & 870 no problem. I didn’t know you had to rock and lock the mag on an M1A, so I DQ’d, because I ran out of time, as I was trying to jam the fresh mag straight in like an AR..... Even if you’ve been shooting your whole life, weapons familiarization is critical! Marksmanship doesn’t mean anything if you don’t know how to operate it!

I've seen something happen twice over the years on US parts kit AK builds when they use the original full auto safety with something like a Tapco G2 trigger that I now preach to everyone: If the dust cover doesn't have the little protruding ledge that stops the safety from over traveling, it's possible to flip on the safety too hard, over travel past the dust cover and then the tail of the safety that normally blocks the trigger comes up and bumps the hammer off the sear causing a negligent discharge. Both times I saw it happen It was folks trying to put the gun on safe in a hurry, and then sent a round downrange accidentally. Blessedly both times around just impacted the berm harmlessly, but for me every time I look at an AK it's something I'm always aware of these days. Not every gun is prone to this, and a lot of aftermarket safeties have the tail milled out in a way that even if you over travel you can't bump the hammer, but a bang when you expect to click is always a bad day.

Oh Larry you could get some former Spetnaz guys on to show some stuff too. Like they train in Russia.
@injuredoutdoorsman90113 жыл бұрын
Doubt any Russian, much less a member/former member of Spetnaz would give KZbin (arguably mostly a US based audience) any training tips or tactics. Russians culturally tend to keep things very close to the chest. Historically, during the Soviet Union, neighbors would turn in neighbors, and sometimes family members would turn in their own kin for believing in God, having/reading a Bible, going to an underground church, not strictly following or speaking out against the communist doctrine or leader. The people who were turned in would be taken off with hoods over their heads, never to be heard from again. That kinda stuff is not quickly forgotten and sticks around for generations...

Hi, I know that it might not be your speciality, but it might be quite useful for some audience to learn a few things about using AK in hand-to-hand combat. I’m new to the Ak world just bought a Sam 7sf and been playing with it but noticed when loading rounds they’re loose and have to be pushed back? Current mags are a circle 10 Bulgarian mag 50$ and two Croatian mags where the spring seems to bind in one. But the Bulgarian had this thing where I topped it off and had to eject a couple of rounds to make the spring have tension? Unlike a 5.56 mag where you just load and go without having to push the rounds back sometimes due to the round sliding forward causing the tip of the round to be slightly outside of the mag
