Excellent man I didn't learn proper technique until I got to college. Just raw athleticism. I'm glad to see these guys learning it young.

+Myles Mims I'm assuming you're in middle or high school. What your coach is teaching is usually what is taught those levels. What you're seeing here in the video is high level technique used by college/NFL corners and safeties. I understand you have to do what your coaches tell you to do but do yourself a favor and learn this technique as well. I wish I knew the motor technique in high school it could've made me a 5 star recruit lol. If you watch football college or NFL look at the cornerbacks instead of watching the ball. you will notice that they use this same technique.

I played corner for 15 years. Please correct me if I'm wrong.....but a corners first step should be his inside foot forward (foot closest to QB), taking away the receivers move towards the inside, then inside hand to the body (as you start to turn and run) to disrupt his desired pattern. Never giving up the inside. As he takes off up the field, ya pin his hip and get your head around, keeping a light hand on his hip. Read his body language as he comes to the line of scrimmage and when he sets before the snap. Does he lick his fingers, is his body tense (anything different will give ya clues). How far inside is he? How far outside is he? Out of bounds can be your friend. Not many do this but I liked mixing up coverages before every snap, up close, far away, inside then outside. But always be in the right position before the snap....don't get caught off guard by quick snaps.

Ike Flo our pleasure! all about the technique you are trying to install. DBs need to learn several techniques to combat different receivers.

You talking about loose man technic. I use it with my db's 6 to 8 yards off the ball. This was a press stance.

thanx for the videos they've been improving my D like crazy.. I have some corners that are in zone and are tempted to go for the opposite side of the field and in consequence leaving their cover open for the wr to pass thru with ez and leaving the safety frustrated . what do you recommend for my cb on cover 2 ?... I want him to be able to cover his zone without getting fooled.. keep in mind this is 6 0n 6 flag football and 10 year olds . thanx coach
