This line is lovely fast and smooth. This guy shouldnt of been on it really. You need to show no fear.. The rule of thumb is on a bike you bottled it 3 times then you shouldnt be doing it and crying like a baby over a small jump proves that
@ViperSRTnACR3 жыл бұрын
@@budman8926 I have to disagree. This video shows that he had the desire to want to clear the jump but had to get over his mental block and sometimes that takes more than three tries. Ever been to a practice session with pros? Dave Lieb and Nicholi Rogatkin are friends of mine and phenomenal slope style riders, yet when they're trying new tricks, sometimes they'll try it 10+ times to get it just right. I give Eric credit for sticking with it and not giving up even when he felt completely defeated trying to get over his mental block.
@Mister1bigidea3 жыл бұрын
@@budman8926 I’ll need to disagree with you on this one. I’m sure Eric sticks to the 3 time only rule in most scenarios and that’s a very important rule, but, in life there are always exceptions. This is definitely a learning moment for him, and even though he cleared it, he has a lot to evaluate, on how to know in which scenario is it worth to keep pushing. When it comes to most of us, while riding a bike, its just about riding the bike. Eric has a KZbin channel dedicated for mountain biking, and the parameter and types of thoughts he has to deal with is completely different. It’s okay to give constructive criticism, but I did not appreciate you using the phrase ‘crying like a baby’, because that feels more like a judgement and not you providing your opinion from experience. Again, this is my opinion, its important to disagree, and I’d encourage you to showcase that without being judgmental.

@@dezzydiamond7121 I actually think KZbin does this to content creators. The need to finish a vid or to get every feature is kind of the wrong driving factor. It's probably not the intended outcome to complete it for the video, but when the video is your livelihood you would want to tick every feature off. Scary to think how creators are affected by this sort of thing. Good example is that nikocado avocado dude, he's destroying his life for views. Might be time for a KZbin break. Have a holiday and just ride, no filming or anything.

@@Thematty635 Booth you and Dezzy make good points. I never considered the long term impact on content creators. Watching BCPOV for a while I believe its fair to say we have seen an increase in his anxiety while riding and a lot of us have been there. The bitch abut anxiety is that the more you think about the worse it gets. As leaders in our sports I hope content creators know we appreciate the battle and authentic real events. There was recent video by Remi M where he didn't finish a feature and there was nothing but respect from the audience. Having said all that, we all have inner demons we need to outcome and for that I applaud BCPOV. Do it for yourself, not us observers.

So thank you Eric, for pushing through and motivating so many of us out there to keep pushing. Thank you Yuka for staying with him and helping him make it. You should never have to go it alone. Major props Eric! I would have said "f__K it" and moved on, especially after the OTB incident. Your determination and drive is amazing. Try to remember the feeling you had on the last one, the one you cleared, and channel that for future challenges. You have a great support system in Yuka and you are an excellent rider with top skills. You got this! Bob T.

Way to go Eric. As riders, most of us have been there and it's a real test of the will to dig deep and find the strength to push forward to face and conquer those challenges that face us both on and off the bike. Also, you one really supportive riding partner. 😉🚵♂️🚵♀️

So beautiful and courageous!! Thanks for leaving nothing out, the courage it takes to upload your raw emotions far exceeds sending that gap jump, even though it was awesome as well!

Damn it Eric! I teared up immediately when you did! Normally i don´t struggle a lot with my mental game but i could still relate so much with your situation! For sure one of your best videos so far! So happy for you that you conquered that Knuckle-Monster!

Thank you for not censoring the language. People need to feel and hear your raw emotion. Overcoming a mental block is harder than most people can imagine, so hearing the post victory celebration is truly a treat for everyone. Not just yourself. Well done stepping out of your comfort zone.

My wife and I watch every one of your and Van Girl Yuka's videos. We loved loved LOVED this one. The dedication, your vulnerability, and most importantly, the amazing partnership you and Yuka have. What an amazing and inspirational marriage! Your emotional outlet left us with big feelings and maybe even a few waterworks. Thank you thank you thank you.

You’re overcoming obstacles, letting clearing jumps become a standard for everything you do in life. When you push yourself to overcome difficulty to do hard things, you’re not only building confidence in your riding ability. You’re changing yourself as a person, becoming more confident in everything you do.

That primal scream and emotion after completing that jump is why we keep coming back to this channel. That's as real as it gets on KZbin. Well done, sir. Super Yuka is also awesome.
