I just want to thank both of y'all for your service, and this video. Your video has gave me all the knowledge I will need, though I'll have a different MOS than y'all, I'm going 68W, this video has still been a help to me. Luckily my JROTC instructor is getting me in tip top shape, and teaching me the stuff he did in BCT, he was also in FLW, MO. Even though my 1sg gives me information I need, I still needed a female perspective, to get a better idea of what I'm getting into. You girls gave me all the information I needed to endeavor to be a soldier! Thank you!

When you go to basic training they always bus your ass in at 2 to 3 in the morning. They have Specialist to assign you to a room. Then wake your ass up in a couple of hours and start messing with you. I remember when I went in the ARMY. Got in at 2:30 a.m. it was raining. We were all soaked and wet. We got stuffed into a small room. Water was all over the place. It was hot as hell. We were given a room. Got maybe 2 hours of sleep. Got up by air horn. Was told to scrape paint off barracks. We did that all day among other shit. What pissed me off is they kept us there for 2 weeks doing work until they finally started processing us all. It took 2 damn weeks just to start processing. I was mad as hell. So we get a extra two weeks of being humiliated and yelled at before we could even start and get through the shit. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Some quick tips to get through basic... 1. stand at ease when talking to an officer and salute ALL NCOs! 2. ALWAYS walk IN FRONT of a formation between the drill Sargent and the platoon on your way to chow. 3. show respect by yelling "at ease" whenever a E-6 enters the room when an E-7 is present. 4. keep your hands in your pockets when they're cold, wear your cover indoors, roll up your sleeves, take naps during fire guard, and ALWAYS call your first Sargent SIR!!! follow these steps and you'll have all kinds of fun in basic. trust me.

when I was at Reception at Leonard Wood, those drills were called Tech Sergeants because they were coming off the trail(going back to their MOS in regular units). you new boots will suffer if you have an Ate Up recruiter that doesn't square you away before you leave. mine tried not to but I have two older brothers who were in before me so I was high speed once I hit the ground.

I went thru basic in October of '09 and we didn't have the "non-scented" everything rule. At least they didn't care in my company. Obviously you couldn't have cologne or perfume, but the female DS's we had let us have scented shampoo, body wash, lotion.. It was nice when you have absolutely no other "luxuries."

Sittin in our bay during downtime... one guy threatened to murder our DS and he didn't know that the very same DS was standing right outside the door. His response was perfect. "Don't threaten me with a good time!" And the look on the privates face was also perfect. Then, I believe the train to pain town came through. I can't remember... It all happened so fast. lol.

Oh man, the 43rd AG reception was a little extreme on me. That was the worst experience for me. I remember getting there around 6 in the evening. I had a female SSG DS, short red haired woman. Thank goodness I was only in reception for like 5 days unlike others that were there for 2+ weeks. There were a lot of yelling and a lot of intimidation from the DS. My battles are right, there are a crap load of shots but hey, it's the standards. Hey battles, great job on the video! www.Facebook.com/GraphMik TO ALL RECRUITS DEPARTING TO FLW: NEVER EVERRRRR LIE ABOUT YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY JUST SO YOU CAN BE SENT BACK HOME! I went through the 43rd ag way back in 08. I have to agree, the peanut butter shot was terrible. They didn't let us rub it. We had to do jumping jacks and run in place and crap. But the ds's in the 43rd were cool. Nowhere near as brutal as what I had in osut. I went to a/35 engineering bn. Combat engineer. We didn't get any phone calls at reception. I was able to make my first phone call a few weeks into bct. They let us have our phones back on like the last Sunday of red phase or something for an hour. Then we didn't see them again for a few weeks.
