I learned about BlueSquadron thanks to Asmongold. Wasn't playing BDO at the time, so I didn't really bother subscribing but recognized the name when it came across my recommended, now I am subscribed and a big fan.

Just so you know, if you upload the entirety of a youtube video, even with you pausing, even with your webcam, even if your video is 2x the length of the original, you can be claimed, and will most likely lose the case. You are completely and utterly at the mercy of the original creator if you do react content. People think youtube videos are uniquely able to be reacted to. This is NOT true. You ONLY avoid issues because the uploaders either, don't care, don't know, or don't want the drama of a lawsuit. If you upload a reaction of you watching an episode of Seinfeld, and you pause every 8 seconds to make a comment and extend the video length by 3x its original run time, but the ENTIRE episode is there, you CAN be striked and taken to court, and will most likely lose. The same is true for youtube videos. If you are a youtuber thinking about doing react content, DO NOT LISTEN TO KZbinRS, dont even listen to this comment. TALK TO A LAWYER.

I haven't seen the react video, so I can only comment based on what you've said in this video. I do see Laurence's frustration. You go above and beyond to shout out and credit the original creator, as well as add a lot of entertainment value to the reaction. This can make the original creator seem much funnier or more appealing than they are, which is why your content drives visibility. If you're arguing that Fake's video was acceptable due to his camera overlay, then yes, it may be covered under the letter of the law. However, for someone you describe as an amazing content creator with a big following, it did seem like a very lazy attempt at views-more like a watch party than a reaction, lol. To be honest, I used to watch Fake on Twitch, but I find his content to be lackluster and not really enjoyable for me. I don't mean any hate towards him, but I believe he is a much stronger editor/video maker than entertainer. The fact that the react video of Laurence gained a high view count in relation to the same time frame on his other recent videos makes me believe I'm not the only one who thinks this.

There is no difference between someones content they made vrs a Hollywood film studios film... both are created by film and edit software. KZbin is a platform for viewership and doesn't own the rights to your video. It can be published on many platforms. KZbins only right is to allow the content to be published on the platform or deny it.. That's all they have... the issue here is the fair use act which means if the video is published online anywhere for free Public viewing then it's legally allowed to be shared. And since KZbin doesn't have a good copyright TOS to fight the fair use act. Then for the time being you have a loop hole to copyrighting people's work..and I repeat react content is 1000% COPYRIGHTING PEOPLES WORK. Just cause theirs a loophole to avoid the strike doesn't mean it's not.. you know it, I know it, we all know it..

Hey man, this isn't a good take. Like just having a webcam on doesn't make Uni's vid transformative and he really did add nothing of substance to Lawrence's video. Also, the corollary to being a content creator is being able to tell people to stop inappropriately using your content. A copy right strike is harsh, but that is his right to go nuclear if he wants to do that. Instead of telling other creators to just suck it up when their stuff is used, you should really be leaning harder into telling other creators to communicate to each other to avoid this kind of drama. At the end of the day, one of the best new BDO channels is now gone because of how Uni was using someone else's content and lack of communication between parties.

I did strongly advocate behind the scenes and publicly to communicate between parties before going nuclear. It is what i recommended in the video multiple times. I didn't say that laying a webcam over it was transformative enough from my point of view, i was making the point that youtube sees it as transformative enough in a lot of cases. the system isnt fair and is easily abused, sadly its all we have which is why i strongly advocate people just communicate and avoid it entirely.

I think this shows the problem with the discoverability on Twitch. The whole lets the bigger creator react off of your content and get paid more than you for your hard work. It shouldn't have to be on content creators to promote other content creators, all while making money off the smaller guy. I get okay with it once you get the pay off. But there are probably people out there who completely gave up because the video they put hours into got picked up by asmongold or someone like that and blew on those channels. While th3 main channel it came from got no traffic. Im not pointing the blane at anyone other than the company who garnered this type of behavior, Twich.

To be transformative, the spirit of the work must be different. As in, message, emotion, etc. For example, Sargon was I'm a copy right case. He won as the juxtaposition of the claims back to back, showing someone arguing against themselves, was deemed fair use. Even with no edits other than splicing, it was considered a new work as the spirit was showing hypocrisy. Claims take the pay but can remain up. Strikes fall off over 90 days. If you get 3 you are deletes forever. You can appeal a strike, but it requires you to give your legal information. Once the appeal is submitted, the claimer has either 14 or 30 days to show KZbin that a lawsuit has been initiated, including legal docs from the court, or the strike is released. KZbin does not do fair use determination. That is a misnomer. KZbin looks and says, is there a lawsuit? If so, it will held until resolution. Some creators will abuse the copyright strike system. The way it currently works, you give the creator an ultimatum. Dox yourself to me, or you will have a strike on your channel for 90 days. Given the level of toxicity and the abuse that exists, the claimant "should" be forced to give their legal information as well. But alas, that's not where we are. The power is in the hands of the claimant, when they consider using this process to gather Pii.

So many bad takes it really disappoints me. First of all just adding your webcam is not transformative at all as the spirit of the work does not change as you yourself do not add anything besides your face. Also saying "you dont grow without bigger creators is so wrong" there are so many creators that still grow on their own and there will always be creators. I am subscribed to so many small creators that grew a lot from 10k andys to nearly 1 mil and no one reacts to them, no one "noticed" them etc. These people work hard, are funny, good at what they do or just straight up grind KZbin. It might be that you yourself feel that way because you barely grew on your own but objectively you are wrong. In addition you just dont see many people getting striked because America favors the rich so channels like Asmongold, SSSniperwolf etc. wont be "attacked". So many creators already made good Videos about that and why it hurts the creators more than it helps especially from channels like Asmongold, XQC and SSSniperwolf as they often upload it with the same title and a lot of viewers just want to watch the reacts of the videos than the videos itself. Like I already said I am disappointed with your take here as its not logical at all but why would you shoot yourself in the foot when you yourself also do reactions and always try to protect your fellow creators.

Webcam is questionable too in a lot of cases if that's all you do. Transform means to change. So yes, adding a video stream on top of other content and adding commentary changes it. Free use is US federal law. It has nothing to do with KZbin at the end of the day. When a creator releases content, regardless of what that content is, its automatically copywritten under that creators name and __must__ be changed in some way for that persons rights to that content not to matter. It's the same as in Music when someone remixes a song. It's completely legal. They can sell that remixed song and make money as long as the changes are transformative.

Look I'm sorry but react content should be considered copyrighting 100% and you should have to ask the creator if you can use there content in a video before watching it on stream and/or reuploading the video.. also an agreed revenue split should be discussed... Showing highlights or talking about the video is one thing but watching someone else's full video content that takes them weeks or months to make on stream and slapping your webcam over the content and reuploading there hard work is kind of bs. You want to say well I'm giving them free advertisement/exposure.... I see it as that's your way of making an excuse to justify what reactors are doing that clearly is wrong to do... If you like someone's content, instead of watching the content on stream/or reuploading a recording of you watching it with a react... you could easily talk about it on stream and link there video in chat for your audience to watch. do you do this no! do other creators do this no! why would you when you can watch it, steal there content. make money off there content on live stream and double dip and reupload there video on to your channel.. idc that you overlaid your cam and paused the video 20x times to give your input on the video.. that's not making it your own content... that's not putting in the work with all the clips and edits it took them to make that video.. You know its wrong, everyone knows its wrong. people just want to justify it because its easier to make this type of content then it is to make your own and for the most part its legal under the fair use act.. but ask your self should it be though... you know the answer is NO! you can upload 10x of react vids a day... vs 1 video a week or a month of someone doing idk there ironman challenge on bdo etc... Look i love you blue. you have become like one of my favorite youtubers as i got back into bdo 6ish months ago and i have watched all of your content since i found you. but man i get it you have really studied how well asmon does his reacts and you both give alot of input but even with doing all that you know damn well you both are just reuploading peoples content and profiting while the creator gets almost nothing from it. i have watched asmon for years now and watch him daily and i have not once ever watched the original video or subbed to the creators he has reacted to, but if he instead would link the video to the chat talk about the video on stream instead of watching it and tell us to check it out i would click that link watch the video and possibly have subbed to hundreds or even thousands of other creators by now but instead i have subbed to 0 cause i already seen the video that most of the time was really good and im not watching it again.. this is how i feel about react content. trust me man the thought comes to my mind to make a react channel cause its so much easier to steal others content and profit from it but i refuse to as in my eyes its stealing 100% even though its technically legal for now but it doesn't make it the right thing to do. my channel offers nothing to the creator for reacting to there content. i have no viewership. so at what point is it ok for my channel to say now im giving back to the creator??? what when i now have 100X his videos that arnt mine and are better videos cause im reacting to videos that took people months to make?? I find many creators don't undestand what Fair use is, even if I'm EU and don't benefit from it... Any react content that shows the entire video is a copyright violation, since it doesn't benefit the original work since everyone has already seen it. It's basically paying in exposure, which in KZbin seems to be great, but in copyright law, it's a violation. There might be a case for some videos where it would be transformative, but it would have to be fought in court. Either way, court is way too expensive and the easiest way is to just contact the uploader to remove the videos or a disclaimer where react content is not allowed. Copyright strikes should be used as the final step for those that will not cooperate.

Disagree or not, the objective truth is if your content gets a reaction video, it’s free marketing and exposure. The amount of millions companies are willing to throw at marketing campaigns for 1% retention. If you’re doing this for monetization, filing copyrights claim for any publicity is extremely short sighted. In reality, people think by working hard to create something you deserve some sort of praise, but the main goal should success- not your egotistical and delusional misconception that people love your shit for your ‘art’

Copy right striking anyone usually leads to the audience hating the person who did it. OF course its different in your case blue. However personally i didnt even know this lawrence guy before this, and now i have absolutely no interest in ever watching his content. Like you said, the reacting content is meant to introducing people to a new channel via larger platform, however what lawrence did just ruined his chances of getting a bigger audience.

Yay, Blue Bald is back! Coincidentally, I got bored of Once Human end game and now I'm back to BDO ... Funny thing is, The day I went to Once Human was also coincidentally the day you took a break. I immediately grinded on Jade and got the Flame of Frost on my 1st hour ^w^ .... This is like my 3rd hour total grinding on Jade
