Hey man just wanted to inform you that upon checkout you must have ordered the “type A” product instead of the “type B” which should have been the bike, wish doesn’t not specify this I’ve learned from experience when you see a certain “type” you have to read the description and when you go to order the product you have to specify with type, I’ve made mistake like this with many quadcopters/ drones, and r/c batteries in the past

I DO feel uneasy giving my charge card information to random businesses on the internet. However, I feel even more uneasy giving Privacy my SSN. That feels much more dangerous than giving businesses my card info. If Privacy stores that information somewhere, and they get hacked, that information is getting sold to identity thieves SO fast. It's much easier to replace a stolen card number, and definitely much easier to keep track of your purchases if you pay very close attention.

Especially since most banks will refund fraudulent purchases and MOST people can easily check their transactions on their phones and catch any fraud relatively quickly. Heck, my 90-year-old aunt was checking her card DAILY. This woman refused to use those FREE return addresses because she thought they would know she was using them and bill her, shred, tore up, or blacked out every piece of mail that had her ADDRESS on it. This was, of course, after clogging her plumbing TWICE within 3 months and we found out that she was soaking all her junk mail in water and Clorox before apparently dumping at least part of it down her laundry room sink!

Some eBay sellers do something "similar". They will have an item in search that is a bicycle, for example, for 99 cents. But then when you go into the ad the light is 99 cents and the bike is $400 but they group them all together as one listing which I don't think is a good idea it just wastes my time when I'm trying to find something I'm looking to buy.
@andymanaus10773 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're right. I avoid sellers who use multi-listings to sell dissimilar items. There are plenty of sellers on eBay who don't do it so I usually find someone ethical to buy the product from.
@jwenting3 жыл бұрын
That's just a new twist on the old bait and switch operation that was very very common 20 yers ago with mail order businesses. Order something, then get told it's sold out but they can sell you the same thing in a bundle for 2-3 times as much, the only thing being added being say a charging cable. And quite often the item you'd get as part of the "bundle" was one that should have been included with the item in the first place according to manufacturer specs.

As soon as you said "a bike for $12" I knew the issue. Wish sellers use this trick a lot, they put "Type A" and "Type B" products with the more expensive product as "B". If the buyer doesn't look closely at the image which shows both products or doesn't use the dropdown to check product "B", they get the lesser product. A good example is the tool kit for $14. If you check "Type B", the kit is $558 and "Type A" is a single wrench for the $14. I buy cheap Arduino products, switches and small electronics parts from Wish, which serve my purpose, but don't bother even looking at the "fantastic" deals because they are all scams.

Apart from the items never being high quality (which one can expect for that ridiculously cheap price) I always received what I ordered. Granted, there are blatant scams on Wish, but with a little common sense and the knowledge of what to expect, I think Wish can be rather useful, as you can see in my case, where I didn't want to spend a lot on a costume I'd only wear a couple of times.

Christmas was coming up and I was excited to be able to send one each to my adult children and still have plenty left over for my youngest and what he'd asked for. So I ordered and even received a discount for ordering so many. That brought my price down to $15 each and free shipping. I awaited the slow cookers with glee at what a great deal I'd gotten. I got a message that they'd arrived at my home 2 weeks before Christmas. When I got home that day I noticed that there were no boxes on my front porch so I was confused until I checked my email and found the plastic envelopes from wish. When I opened those envelopes I found the replacement gaskets for the lids of the models I'd ordered. So I had no gifts for my children when they got to my home for Christmas vacation in less than a week. Off to wally world I went to spend $40 each on the gifts for my kids. I wasn't a happy camper and I haven't ordered from them since.

Yeah, I have been using Wish for years now. I got played on the first couple of orders but once I knew how the game was played, I actually scored some pretty sweet deals. One of the BIGGEST failures is their clothing sizes. The first time I ordered a clothing item (jacket) it was only labeled S-XXXL. Thinking that they were using the standard US sizes I ordered a medium. I wound up giving that one to my 8-yo godson as a present and he was only able to wear it for one season. Even the XL that I then ordered fit tighter than a bear hug and wound up being gifted to Goodwill! Turns out they were being labeled in Chinese sizes and they have since added some conversion charts to more closely match US sizing standards. You should STILL be very cautious, though. If you stay away from clothing (or pay CLOSE attention to the charts and maybe order the next larger size anyway), understand that you are NOT getting a product that you could pick up off the shelf at even a Walmart or Target, are not overly concerned about the quality, and can wait a pretty long time for your item, it's not that bad, lol. Buyer beware!
@chemmustang6563 жыл бұрын
When Wish first came out I order a lot of items from them, mostly clothing items like shirts, belts, and a couple of watches, and never received the wrong item. I did learn very quickly by scrolling/swiping through the images about making sure I select the correct style/color if more than one was presented. Generally it was noted on the clothing items that the sizes were Chinese sizes and to order larger than what you would normally wear. I generally ordered 1-2 sizes above my normal size and I only had one shirt that didn't fit right, so I gave it to my wife and it fit her perfectly. I ordered a LEGO set on Wish expecting it to be the knockoff Lepin, but it was an actual LEGO set in the sealed manufacturers box. I stopped ordering because I felt I was spending way too much money. My biggest pet peeve was the shipping. Sorry for the novel, but that's my experience.

I didn't buy it, but I contacted them, trying to explain, and got "stereo means can play music" as a reply. No, no it doesn't. I like a simple life so I don't buy from Ebay, certainly not from Wish (I have a mate who is a sucker who does), nowhere at all from China directly. That includes drop-shipping, I want stuff to have been in stock from a British seller in Britain, who is subject to British Trading Standards laws, regarding shit not being lethal or likely to set my house on fire, poison me, or cause great disappointment. I've come to expect shit like this from China these days. But from a US based company, that's cheeky! He's taking advantage, even with the deliberate bad English. Looks like he's trying to give the impression it's a Chinese operation, so that when people are scammed, by him, the scammer, they just think "ah, China, what you gonna do?". The Chinese get away with it because their government doesn't care, and Chinese business ethics place saving money / increasing profit, above honesty. Yes they really, genuinely do, it's their mainstream culture, not just some minority of criminals. To them, replacing something with an inferior part is praised as resourceful and inventive, as long as the customer doesn't complain. If they do, but you successfully lie to them, or at least give them such a runaround they give up in exhaustion, then you still win! And therefore get the genuine respect of other Chinese people! Seriously. That's their actual culture. Thieves and scammers. You can't just put it down to "differences", making a deal with someone with your fingers crossed behind your back is not ethical. Yes it's resourceful, of the type psychologists call "criminal resourcefulness" or "criminal versatility". It's what psychopaths have. And the entire nation of China. Where they feed their own people "sewer oil". Cooking oil skimmed from... well you can read. Their culture is defective. The sooner we get them nuked before they can build up an arsenal of their own, the better. They'd serve the world better as a radioactive wasteland. It would give future Moon-dwellers a way of knowing what time it was, based on whether the bit of Earth overhead is glowing in the night sky. Then maybe the scumbag megacorps that run the world would be forced to employ first-worlders to work in first-world factories, and working-class Westerners would actually make things again. Up until we get the robots doing everything.

@@chrislambe400 Problem is, it's all true! And that's where the world's manufacturing all is. They also have a mass of foreign reserves, a huge cache of huge cash. Because - if people want to buy stuff from China, they need to have RMB, China's currency. A Chinese factory needs to pay it's workers and it's electric bill, and that's all in RMB, so to order from him, RMB is what you need. This means there's a large demand for it. And in a free market, more demand means the price goes up. But this can't be allowed to happen! If RMB became more expensive, Chinese goods would be more expensive! NO! So the Chinese govt buy lots of Dollars and Euros, creating false demand for them, and paying in RMB. So those RMB are now in Western hands, meaning Chinese goods are available and cheap again! China has manipulated the market to keep their exchange rate favourable for export. This also means, though, that they still *have* all these Dollars and Euros, tons of them. If they, say, decided to dump them all on the market, it would make the Dollar crash, knacker the US economy, or indeed a European one.

Bought thousands of products from wish over the years. Most ends up ok, or good. And a few very sirprisingly exceeding my expectations in a great way:) But most is ok. And maybe 20% is below expectations or bad. The price however saves the investments. Because it is often so mch more affordable that it is still good, even with 10% crap. But i always do big research before deciding on what to buy. And i never buy electronice and never anything like chargers etc. Because if the electronics or chargers are not top quality, they vould potentially damage example my iphone or cause fires etc. So use your brain basicly. Then research reviews, customer feedbacks, etc etc. Then review the price. And add a margin for possible bad products (waste of money), so you can get a real summary if it is worh trying to buy. And customer support at Wish is sort of great. The rebate programs have however gotten a lot weaker overvthe years. Things are not as cheap now as it used to be.

I had been expecting a knic-knac version of the real item; it was more than I had expected. I recall reading two customer comments: "can't wait to get all the pieces" & "had difficulty with assembly of parts" Both left 5 star rating though. I gave the bow to my neighbor lady when she told me her wish of playing violin again like she had done in high school 40 yrs ago. It's how you can change the color on some items when you order them but may have to pay $0.50 more. I bought a tapestry that was photographed above a loveseat sofa and it was an inch or two longer than the loveseat, well I bought it and, it was about the size of one of the two cushions on the loveseat. Great quality and absolutely beautiful but quite small! Also when looking around wish you'll see a pair of REAL VANS for let's say $10.00 you press buy and up pops a page where you pick your color and size, the only pair that is $10.00 is a size 3! All the other sizes are what the normal price is for real vans!!! One more thing to watch out for is after you hit buy and buy whatever it is that you wanted it takes you to your shopping cart PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR SHOPPING CART, here it could say you bought type A when you wanted type B, this would be something like what happened to you! I hoped I helped you about wish, and you now know most if not all pitfalls. If you have any more questions DM me and I'll do my damndest to get you a correct answer. @@Saitaina I don't know, it seems pretty self explanatory to me. I think most people probably understand it if they've ever bought ANYTHING online. Even Amazon has you choose which selection you want. I don't see how you can miss Type A/Type B when it's so clearly obvious in the listing, the pictures, the "what's included." @Crackpot_Astronaut3 жыл бұрын
@@danielch6662 Sure, that makes sense, and the fact of the matter is that plenty of people buy things without reading the description carefully. Every time I check reviews on Amazon, there's at least one complaining about the size or something else that's clearly listed in the description. And they admit this: "I should have read the description better..." So it makes sense that they gave him a refund for $12, because online retailers are probably used to that. But it doesn't change the fact that actually *reading* and *paying attention* to the description would have prevented this in the first place. And it doesn't mean that it's a scam or deceitful- it's written clear as day. If you go into a listing for something priced at $5 for 1, but the only option available is a 10 pack for $50, you usually notice. Because you choose which deal you want before you check out. It's the same thing here, except the price is less instead of more. If you go to buy a lamp + light bulbs, and when you click the listing, there's an option for ONLY might bulbs because they're sold out of the bundle.. it's not the company's fault if you choose the wrong selection and continue the purchase anyways. It doesn't mean they're scamming anyone- it means you aren't paying attention.

@@xl000 AliExpress is related to alibaba, which is like Amazon for China market. Stuff is cheap cuz of wholesale price, but gotta wait a month or two to arrive. We can also purchase the same item on eBay for at least double of the price but receive in couple days cuz ship from US.

@@QtAnGeL0121 It's cheap on Aliexpress because it's COUNTERFEIT. Everything I've seen on there is obviously fake. I know a guy that bought a "made in mexico" Fender Stratocaster from there for $300 less than they normally are. He doesn't have the experience that I do- but even he knew that it didn't look right, right away.

I actually did think you'd receive at least small bike :D But I did order from wish few times (for smaller things where price was more or less accurate) and often got what I wanted instead of paying like 10-20 dollars more from a shop that has exactly the same thing but in my country. What a nice surprise was, when they refunded me some items, and they never wanted it back. And a two week shipping? Phew, here in CZ it take almost always 1-2 months to arrive :D But to be honest, I'd never go for something more expensive there.

well the type B was for the Bike and the Type A was the light, you might of selected A and got a light. Also the drone is a limited time item so it's like a lottery, and the ring was free but the shipping is going to be expensive.
@shadowsinsomniacs99433 жыл бұрын
There was no option b available on the listing.

It's clearly in the picture. Type A was the label next to the light and Type B was the label for the bike. You received Type A bike light. I caught it in seconds.

I've been buying from Wish for years. Yes, the items are cheap, but sometimes they actually work well. Depends on what you buy. Also, I bought the same bike for $26. It never arrived and I got my money back without making a complaint.

I've almost always received the stuff that I've ordered from wish. The times that I haven't, it has only taken me a few minutes to get a refund from them so it doesn't bother me. Although I don't order expecting amazing quality stuff - it is all cheap Chinese knockoffs after all. Good for little bits and pieces on the cheap.

Uuhm, that doesn’t tell me Wish is good. Wish is creating a lot of waste just to satisfy those who want to buy cheap imo. The question i have is: did u really need the cheap goods u got on wish? And if so, how long do u keep them?
@oxide_fx3 жыл бұрын
@@SievertSchreiber Nah, I never claimed they were good. It's cheap Chinese crap. You get what you pay for. But everything I've ordered has done the job I needed it to. For instance, I bought a set of fork sliders for motorcycle (they're a thick piece of plastic that gets grounded down in the event of a small crash to protect the motorcycle parts) £80 odd for a branded aftermarket set but £5 on wish. (I just want to say for the love of God I would never recommend buying parts such as levers because in those cases cheap low quality parts can even cost your life).

Only one time did I not get what I actually ordered on wish. And every other time I've ordered things through wish I actually ended up getting refunded for each item while they were being shipped to me because the shipping was taking forever. So I got a whole bunch of gel polishes and nail decor stuff for free because none of it was delivered by the specified date so they refunded me everything for the entire purchase and told me if/when the items arrive, just keep them

I only buy stuff that I know isn't going to be total crap. Like guitar picks, aux cables, dice, etc. Simple plastic things that are hard to make bad. One time I did get a microphone boom arm for like $13 and I was quite surprised to see it arrive in one piece and fully functional. The springs were a little creaky until I oiled them up, but other than that I was very happy with that purchase.

I've had items that where listed with a 1 month ship time, ships within 3 days and received the items a year later, Almost to the date. It was a birthday present so while annoyed it did make it there for the next birthday.

I've never had a major problem with wish and been using it on and off for a few years now. I would advise reading reviews and only buying from sellers with good ratings, and make sure you select the correct types and read the listings carefully. Wish have also been very good and easy to get a refund from if there's any problems 👍
@zebraloverbridget3 жыл бұрын
I've used it a lot too. The most important thing, besides what you already mentioned, is also to just have common sense when buying items. Even an e-bike made in China won't be that cheap. The batteries alone cost $100+ with it varying based on the specific battery. I have only received the completely wrong item once from wish.

@@zebraloverbridget yeah sure. But legitimate platform would be more restrictive and would check the listings before they go live

One time I ordered a red jumpsuit for cosplay (based off my favourite band Slipknot), it took a while to arrive and the price is wayyy more expensive than the actual jumpsuit, I ordered it anyway thinking that it'll be a good costume for Halloween and when I receive it, I got the jumpsuit and it's already teared up at the left sleeve and it's missing one patch. I should've just gone for the Ebay one but I didn't wanna get a second hand one... 🙃 Oh, btw, I wouldn't order makeup from Wish because we don't know what they put in there, it might be some harsh chemicals, which is kinda dangerous...
