Pure facts as a 6'2 240 lb dark skin man that don't smile a lot and quiet a lot of people that see me as intimidating/ mean. I had a white classmate in trucking school to tell me he thought I was aggressive, but once he got to know me I was super laid back and chill just quiet. Not making this a race issue but I've had numerous of black women to tell me I look like a serious strong black man but to non-black people I look mean.

With them, it's usually their racial programming. Most of them are operating on a narrative that was fed to them by the media.

MOre times than not it usually is a race issue. Black men are generally always perceived as more threatening/aggressive especially if they are darker skinned.

As I said before, people come to me and talk. I can also give off the wrong vibe as I speak because my speech can sometimes be abrupt. I sometimes put endings on words, and at other times, I drop endings on words. Many people ask me where I am from.

Very interesting. I had this conversation the other day. Seems people at most might feel im friendly or easy to talk to. But there are times I run across strangers some will smile and or nod with respect. But I also get some that act as if they hate me or it's as if they think I'm unfriendly. I ask people I know, how they perceive me. But I can never get a great feedback because they tend to have complimentary things to say. But it makes me wonder at times if I'm sometimes perceived differently. Great topic that can be explored deeper.
