Now currently iam staying near to varthur kodi. Before 5 yrs varthur lake had water, which was not good to drink, now BBMP filly drained that water reason was for improvmt of lake, now they sold some portion to developers. That peoples r constructing big apartment next to lake & they r planning to construct IT park. Varthur lake is loosing her glory

Bangalore was not part of Mysore in 1860, as it already was under Brits & Bangalore was presidence of Maratha Rigimitdear Raja Rao Bhadur Ram Rao Rannavare, even the Brits refered to him by same name, it's recorded history in Kannada !!!!! Bangalore was given to Shahaji by Adil Shah of Bijapur after he had defeated Kepegowda. Later Shahaji handed it to his elder son Venkoji, elder step brother of Shivaji who was 14 years younger to him. Venkoji was asked by the Naikas to help as Naikas neighbouring states use to intrud his territory. Venkoji moved to Tanjavur after defeating for Naikas. Venkoji's grand daughter married Rigimitdar, who ruled Bangalore.
