Don’t get rid of the pauses. A pause allows you a moment to think through what you will say next. You can’t speak eloquently if you aren’t thinking. Plus, in conversation, it gives the other person a chance to talk.

There have been studies that prove small pauses and a few "ums" during a speech or a lecture helps the listeners remember the dialogue better. The pauses and "breaks in speech" allow the brain to process what was said, place into short term memory... And then go back to listening. The pauses and breaks also allow a few moments for the speaker and the listener to find relatable understanding... Kind of like: "I'm going to say this important thing... * Pause . And let it sink in a bit *... And then say another important thing... " Listen to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President Obama, Winston Churchill, etc. Great speakers... All of them paused...❤️😁

I experienced something with my boss recently. I asked him a question, which was a relatively broad question. He goes on a tirade about the necessity of speaking clearly. So sometimes, we have to give each other the benefit of the doubt, give each other the space to misspeak.

I forget the specific lecture, but Jordan spoke of, maybe the 'king of the Titans' and he was all eyes and tongues. Bc he observed like no other and spoke the truth of what he saw like no other. Its so valuable to SEE and be able to SPEAK ELOQUENTLY THAT WHICH YOU'VE SEEN. We've all learned the importance of that over the last couple of years. Jordan is all eyes and tongues no matter the stakes and im so grateful for that.

In recent years I have tried to put into words a lot of things that the literature, for whatever reason, did not describe so accurately that it would be understood. I tried it in the circle of acquaintances, in the circle of family, I tried it everywhere and the only people who understood the words were those who experienced in a similar way what I was trying to explain. So I wonder what words are really worth if the life experience behind them isn’t there. For me it was no different for many years, stories here and there, many words but without the experience that led to the explanations understanding was not possible. And I’ve been precise enough in the things that concern me over the past few years, in my opinion. But it just doesn’t help in trying to explain it to people who lack experience, they don’t understand. And I’m also thinking that maybe most of the evils in the world come about because words aren’t enough. Everyone wants to be understood somehow by others, but how if there is a blockage in the brain that makes words useless?

@@fredapel6039 I think intelligence is overrated. As I have it right in front of my eyes, the theme of empathy can be described quite well as an example. If you don’t have empathy, so you don’t have the experience, then almost all words are meaningless, you can’t understand what is meant. Words, literature and all that work well if the knowledge already exists but is not yet formulated in the mind. Then it helps, because without formulated knowledge it is very difficult to consciously work with it. However, my problem is that I can formulate my topics as long as I want, others seem to be completely missing these experiences in their minds. That’s what I wanted to say.
