I enjoyed your reaction- thanks! Their featured guest, Mikal ("Michael")Kilgore was a full time member of their group when they started it back when they were still in high school in 1997. Their group was a quartet called '4theLove' but they changed the name to '4-2-Five' when they added a fifth member beatboxer, Scott Porter. Mikal left the group to pursue a career on Broadway and Scott Porter left to pursue an acting career in Hollywood (both have been very successful). The others worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks. They eventually change the name of the group to Voice Play around 2012. They do their own production without a contract or record label by choice working out of PattyCake Productions studio owned by beatboxer, Layne Stein, and former baritone singer, Tony Wakim, near Orlando Florida. They do have great professionals that they have known and worked with at the theme parks assist with complicated makeup and choreography when needed. They have financial support from their large number of patrons. Geoff and Voice Play are the kings of Halloween so you may want to check out their Halloween themed covers during the Halloween season-- some fantastic ones from the past and soon to be released.

Layne and Tony Wakim own a production studio where they film. Rick underwood does their makeup and the patrons pay for it

Love this from VoicePlay as always!! My favorite song watching the movie was always Hakuna Matata but if I was just listening probably the Circle of Life.

Mykal is one of the original members before he left for Broadway where he has done well. Glad to hear him. Layne's incredible beatboxing even the fear boxing with Geoff.

Hey, I think the fact that you enjoyed it even though it was a song that you always skipped on the soundtrack has to count for something, right? I always liked the song, basically because I thought Jeremy Irons did a good job speech-singing it. Since this dropped I have done research and was suprised to find out that actually Irons was dubbed for part of it because he managed to really wreck his voice while attempting to record it. Anyway, I think Layne did a fantastic arrangement for this and everyone was on their A game for the singing and acting, and it's basically been on repeat for me since it dropped. I will be very interested in seeing what you think of their next release, which is definitely joining their long list of 'made for Halloween' videos.

You might be interested in checking out PattyCake Studios' productions - that's Layne and Tony's studio. They do other work there, but their in house productions are always fun.

And for their 'PattyCake Productions' they not only produce the videos, but write the scripts, much of the music (originals) and design and make the costumes. Some of their works are not exactly original because they are existing songs rearranged, but especially for their Villains Lair series all the songs are written by Layne & Tony (previous VoicePlay baritone). I think my fave of theirs is "Born Bad", an '80s inspired song they wrote for Cruella de Ville based on the live action film. And man, the high-couture theme costumes Tony did? Marvelous!

The best track on the soundtrack was Elton John's version of The Circle of Life, IMO. I like this cover better than the original Be Prepared.
