One of the best villain songs ever. The 90s really were Disney's heyday 😊

Without a doubt the best Disney villain song. Once you get this one in your head you’ll never get it out. Irons and Cummings nailed their performances.

I felt Scar's pain, raw emotion and feelings in this song. And in a way, I can definitely relate to what he must have gone through. Personally, I'm the youngest brother of my own family just like Scar and have the weaker genetics, the over the top personality, the charisma and the lyrical talent in the family tree. Our mom is denying me of my rightful inheritance even though I was my father's only son and the only reason she's even making it in life is because of his money, his influence and his decisions. I always looked at Scar's plans and motivations with a different eye than most and you really have to step in his paws to know his situation. The fact I have a nephew who everyone in my family absolutely adores makes the parallels hit home that much deeper. I'm pretty damn close to knowing what it must've felt like and for that reason alone, he will always be one of my favorite villains in cinematic history and someone who's mistakes I can easily learn from when trying to get what I want out of my own family. Scar was Disney's G.O.A.T. and there will NEVER be any villain quite like him EVER

Literally the only reason I watched the live action movie was in the hopes this song would be half as good as it was in the original, just to die inside when it wasn't even included

Because they wanted someone more diverse…even though if they wanted that, they could’ve just asked Idris Alba, since he actually sounds intimidating, until the actual actor they ended up using for 2019 Scar

Incredible how Jeremie Iron was not brought back for the live-action remake (arguably the best voice actor in the movie). Yet a senile-sounding James Earl gets welcomed back with open arms because of "diversity". One of many reasons the live-action was so forgettable.
