As a "case-fan", I love this case! This level of flexibility is what I expected whenever a case has claimed to be highly customizable. I agree some of the features are for a very small niche of users though. I hope they will follow-up with smaller version that retains the mainstream features and improvements, but omits things like the charger, leds, etc.

You briefly pointed out the PSU panel thing, but I don't understand how that works. Apart from it being bad cooling-wise with the PSU blowing its air mostly into the case (especially if there's negative pressure), how are the power connector and switch on the panel connected to the actual PSU? And can the PSU be pushed all the way to the outside wall if the mobo tray is in the lowest position? In that position, how does it not clash with the case floor, the cooling duct space below? Does is even seal properly there? (Oh well, with so many unsealed openings these days, I'm amused there's still talk about optimized airflow. It's a mess until excessive taping is done.)

i really like this case, great review. nice German quality case! it's different and classy looking, something kinda elegant about it to. for $219 shipped for the 900 Base Pro, I'm about to buy one. I think it will work for me well.

Ok, so I have a problem mounting my motherboard. I have an E-ATX motherboard. On the motherboard tray it says to place mobo standoffs in position E1 and E12 but there is no E12, the highest it goes is to E9. But the case is modular and you could move it down three steps. Do I have to do that to install it? An answer from someone who has built in this case would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

To be fair, there are people out there that really do want the inverted layout.

I am fine with that and hope I was clear that personally I am not won over by the inverted part. There is a great deal to admire about this case. No doubt some people are less fussed than I about the lack of power supply cover.

@KitGuruTech: If you were going for a full tower and money was no object which case would you recommend, this one is on the top of my list so far, i also have my eye on Corair 780T and CM maker 5. So far this looks like to be the best due to allot of space, easy to build, modularity, look, silent case etc. Could this be the best full tower 2016? Appreciate some feedback. Cheers. Love the reviews by the way. Thumb up!

I really really like the looks of this case, I have a Dark Rock 3 from be quiet in use and I know they dont play around with their quality, I wanted to buy this case but it is way too tall for my needs... I was hoping around 18 inch or something that small, good review!
@TechSway7 жыл бұрын
Being able to invert a case isn't being too clever. It allows true flexibility when deciding on the placement of your custom rig. I feel your review has overlooked a lot of things about this case that makes its unique and a cut above the rest. I would recommend people to check out HardwareCanucks or TechSource for their take on this case.

I'm looking for a case for my new watercooling build. The whole modulair idea is nice but what I'm looking for is a case that's not too big but can fit big radiators. The 420 in the front and 360 on top is great news. But still the price is pretty high. Anyone any suggestions on a case that has the same radiator capability without super tower size?

TT suppressor f51 w/ side window & power cover. Huge fuckin case, solid, got all the rad support you can possibly want, dust filters and rubber gromets on cutouts. I'm happy to say that they addressed all the issues that Leo pointed out in his video ( I got one and I'm absolutely happy ).

Does it really support EATX motherboards? And I mean the 272mm ones.
@KitGuruTech8 жыл бұрын
www.bequiet.com/en/case/699 it supports E-ATX and XL-ATX so, basically, yes.
@kariverson18 жыл бұрын
KitGuruTech Thanks! That's nice! I almost bought Phanteks Enthoo Evolv because it said it supports EATX, but then I noticed the (only up to 264mm) What are the manufacturers really thinking?! If that incline on the Phanteks was just 1cm to the right it could support 272mm motherboards. Why can't they think of such simple things. I have a pandora ATX right now and it has a similar incline while it has plenty of room for EATX. Anyway I'll have to think about this hard because it is quite expensive at 250euro here. While I can get InWin 303 for 100...

Kitguru I've watch both of your reviews of the dark base pro 900 and phanteks evolv tempered glass case and was wondering if price wasn't an issue which would you recommend? my build is gygabyte gaming 7, h100i corsair cpu cooler, msi 970 superclocked. thanks for all your informative reviews :)
@KitGuruTech8 жыл бұрын
They are quite different chassis - one is big and has a lot of clever stuff to move the motherboard tray around while the other is far more stripped down and has everything on show. My guess is that if you look at both your instant gut reaction will tell you which of the two you prefer.
@josh8858 жыл бұрын
The charger is mostly a gimmick that I would have rather seen left out since not many people will use it but it blocks air flow for the 3rd fan of a 420mm radiator and makes an enclosed area for heat to trap in. So even with the mounting support running a 420 rad seems unpractical. Especially with the top cover design which prioritizes quietness at the expense of somewhat reducing the airflow as well so it's a double whammy. So imo because of the Qi charger it really only supports a 360 radiator on top which is a shame considering a tiny minority of people will actually use the charger and that few cases in this price range actually support a 420 radiator.
@brandonbreuer65898 жыл бұрын
So put a 420 in the front instead? It's not like you could fit a 420 in the top and front at the same time anyway. I doubt the Qi charger has as much negative impact on airflow as you are implying. Keep in mind that the top vents through the sides as well as straight up and those side vents would not be impacted at all by the Qi charger.
@iiNNeX8 жыл бұрын
I have the case, the Qi charger does not block my 3rd fan, I have 420 at the top (nemesis gts) and 360 GTX at the front. That said I might move the 420 at the front as I personally think it looks tidier. Also clears a bit of space at top to get a bigger res :)

@KitGuruTech8 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say - the best advice is to contact be quiet! directly. The case supports E-ATX and XL-ATX which areb't really standards as there are a few variants. HPTX is potentially very similar to XL-ATX so I would say 'perhaps'

Oi, old man, the inverting gimmick is the reason I bought this and not the 800 version -_- My desk has a wall in front of it and one on the LEFT, with my door on the right, so my PC can only be on the left otherwise it would be on the side next to my door and who the hell would do that? You have no idea how long I've been looking for a tower that is oriented left to right @_@
@KitGuruTech8 жыл бұрын
I am very pleased for you, As I say in the review 'that feature does nothing for me'. If it is important for you then we are in agreement.
@AlexanderHL19198 жыл бұрын
KitGuruTech Albeit, having the mobo upside down doesnt particularly tickle my fancies. I hope in the future, manufacturers will allow the option to buy a ''mirrored'' version. I would love to have the case left to right oriented without having the mobo upside down.. Still, I'll take what I can.

@fancystacy7 жыл бұрын
I do not agree with the author of the review. The case is made quite well, it uses a variety of innovative solutions. The only drawback in this case is its size. The size of the case should be a little more, and then you do not have to go to compromise solutions with disc cages, radiators and there will be no need to move the motherboard down, while losing the possibility of using pci-e slots. This case is not designed for installation under a table or somewhere in a closet, so its height is not critical and could be a couple of centimeters higher.
@KitGuruTech7 жыл бұрын
I am intrigued that you state the case is not designed for installation under a table - whether or not that was the intention it is surely true that many people will find it convenient to slide it under a table.
@fancystacy7 жыл бұрын
It would be a huge waste. There are so many cheap solutions for sliding under the table. Of course, someone can ride a race car in a swamp, someone may find this very convenient, but initially the developers of this case planned it would attract the eye, serving as a container of a beautiful overclocked system with water cooling, lighting, etc. A huge glass window and LED stripes clearly show this. Would you hide such a system under the table? Http://www.hw-journal.de/images/Bilder/2016/news/be-quiet/Dark-Base-900/be-quiet-Dark-Base-Pro-900-4.jpg
