Wait a minute! What about the Hein Countergambit with an immediate d5 against the Evans Gambit? That's another really tricky and aggressive option against the Evans Gambit, and even more so it completely ruins White's day by immediately taking them out of their comfort zone and throwing them into immediate confusion on what to do. It's more aggressive as well, immediately opening up the door for the light-squared bishop. The Hein Countergambit really spoils White's fun. I once showed a 2000 that gambit and he won an OTB tournament game with that gambit, with the Black pieces against another 2000, where both players had no idea what they were doing but Black still won. Imagine if Black knew what he was doing--White gets slaughtered in a lot of those positions. Edit: The Hein Countergambit is after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. b4 d5

Hein's countergambit is not bad but I prefer declining gambits except it's the king's gambit where I play d5 after f4
@thesingingflyАй бұрын
@@divinity996 That's a different opening system, the Falkbeer Countergambit. That's another one of my favorites. Both the Hein Countergambit and Falkbeer Countergambit decline a gambit line by White with a counter-pawn gambit. However, unlike the Falkbeer, which many King's Gambit players know about, very few even know about the Hein Countergambit, let alone know how to properly survive it. On Lichess, the King's Gambit has been played 80 million times, and 7.4 million people have played the Falkbeer Countergambit. The Evans Gambit was played over 6.3 million times--however, only 8,000 people played the Hein Countergambit against it. Almost no one covers the Hein Countergambit on their channel.

@@BREAKocean Huh? It's a gambit on Move 4 in a popular line in the Italian.

Let's joke a little! And I am referring to your frequent expression "I cannot memorize all this stuff"...Years ago, I had a university teacher that used to put on the board kilometers of Math, demonstrations, about 12 pages of small handwriting in 3 hours. All these, without seeing any book or notes, or...whatever. At the exam, one of my collegues "inspired" discretely from some paper and put on the board the final formula of a demonstration. The teacher looked at him, and said "I am teaching this since 10 years and never memorized this formula, I am always finding it as a result of demonstration. But, since I have not caught you, I'll let you pass the exam"...

It’s a shame chess is basically solved, I bet chess was a lot more intense and interesting before computers basically hand held us to the best moves.
@moronoftheinternet8864Ай бұрын
Chess is not solved, not even close in fact and you can still play completely unique games all the time. Chess is still very intense and interesting today, maybe even more so than before.
