There is something peculiarly sacred in the human voice. Its harmony and its subdued and heaven-inspired pathos exceeds every musical instrument. Vocal music is one of God's gifts to men, an instrument that cannot be surpassed or equaled when God's love abounds in the soul. Singing with the spirit and the understanding also is a great addition to devotional services in the house of God. ~Ellen White

The 3 tools of artistry GOD has given to men, you, the LORD'S friend and brother have given honor. 1. Tasteful range of dynamics from soft to loud; 2. Tempo changes are always graceful; and 3. Articulation changes between legato and staccato. The changes are always fresh and the unity between the voices, impeccable. I don't say this to flatter but to encourage. The Christian world needs this standard of excellence to draw respect from those outside of faith because the world's ways deny GOD'S.

The modern church is robbing itself of timeless treasures. God will bless you through your appreciation of these masterpieces. Many were written to complement the sermons and to teach important doctrine to a sometimes illiterate congregation. Then there is the worship angle -- read the hymn stories and learn about the life influences of the composers. You will be edified by what the writers went through -- by the grace of God. Classic hymns will comfort you; learn them! Blessings...

Wow - Sam, you truly are a gift! Praise the Living God!!! Isn't it interesting how folks like "owenrhysmusic" get so angry about people expressing their faith? "Owen," why are you so angry? If you have been "burned" by people who claim to follow Jesus (like so many, unfortunately!), then be mad at people - they're (WE'RE) the ones to blame! Seek out Who was the one who created all this beauty and order - and discover how he chose to SAVE US out of our brokenness... God bless you!!!

An ancient Irish melody Slane, composer unknown (he-he-he, it was written by the hand of God) that very well may have changed the course of civilization from Pagan barbarism to the Gospel of Love. Sam Robson slays Slane! Thank you Sam for keeping true to the melody. It's utter simplicity is it's profound power in my opinion, and while you added a trill or two here and there to bring it up to date, your rendition is simply sublime, might I say, inspired. Lovely. One of the hymns that helps me keep my faith.

My friend not a one of us on this planet is perfect. We live in a broken world. Suffice to say that my 18 year old ADHD son is one of the smartest people I know. He's funny, extremely intelligent, he's a very gifted percussionist and has a deep love for God, his family and friends. I wouldn't change anything about him including his ADHD because God made him that way for a reason. As with Sam Robson, we just appreciate the gifts and God given talent in others including yours whatever they may be.
