This song was played at my cousin’s funeral 17 days ago. He was only 14. As painful as it’s been since the accident, I find comfort in knowing that he is home in the Kingdom with our beloved Irish grandfather, and I will see him again someday. God’s grace allowed him to give 5 people a second chance at life. My cousin is a hero. I will love you forever.

My dear husband listened to this many times as he was dying of cancer. We joined hands and sang it as a family in his hospital room when Paul passed. The nurse at the Durham VA Hospital said they were deeply moved at the respect we showed our dead loved one. Too many families just scoot out of the room when the loved one takes their last breath.

I made my grandmother a promise on her deathbed. I promised her "Memere I promise you I will quit drinking". It was the last thing I ever said to my grandmother. One year and a month later I have not touched a drop of alcohol. I've worked like I've never worked before to keep that promise. I know she's watching and I know she guide's me through everyday. Catholics weren't the true Christians or first as the Romans killed the actual Christians as entertainment as they were pagan. Do some research and you'll notice it yourself. Jesus has 1 church yes but be careful what one you believe to be the true or first as we are warned that many false prophets and teachers will rise in the last days...

Whereas the catholics trace their history back to first century CE. The Church and the organization of it are even biblical when we see the issue resolved by the early church about gentiles receiving circumstances. The statement you make at the very beginning where you say that Roman Catholics idolise the Pope is very vague. What do you mean by that? Do you mean admire, revere, or love greatly or excessively? Because by that definition of course but if you mean that we worship the pope that has got to be one of the stupidest things I have heard any protestant say. Mary did a lot more than what you credit her for doing. Don’t you think if you married someone you would want to get to know their mother? The Romans killed early christians sure but that doesn’t mean they killed all of them. Peter went on to establish the church in Antioch and then in Rome where he died. Now we are at today where very single priest has been appointed by someone that has been appointed by someone that has been appointed by someone and if you trace this succession of appointment all the way back to the beginning you can see the Jesus was the beginning of the line. This proves that the catholic church is the church Jesus spoke of when he said this “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” I entirely recognize that our main focus as christians is to listen to the word of Christ and follow the gospel. That is why we have The Pope in place, to enforce the gospel and prevent heresy from being spread. When you say that we shouldn’t listen to anyone elses word that is unbiblical as Christ tells Peter that “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” in Mathew 16.

This song has a special meaning for me. My retinas were bleeding, and I thought I was going blind. I realized I would never be able to play music except for the classical things I had memorized. @@marylove7153 My Eye Doctors were always worried about My pressures because they were so high upper 20's they were afraid that the high pressure would cause the capillary veins to rupture < They never did thank God however I did have other problems and after three surgeries on My right eye, it is now after 68 years My better eye ! but after the surgeries and in the recovery, time I had a lot of time to practice, but it went a lot better after I discovered that not ALL of the notes were dotted :-) it took several weeks for the floaters to stop so I could read the music properly. Both of My Eye's are stabilized and at 20/20 in My Right Eye and 20/25 in My left Eye. just at My last Eye exam, They told Me that they were no ;longer worried about the pressures and that they are ok now.! More than sixty years ago my teacher, Mr Smythe, wanted to include this beautiful hymn in school assembly. Nobody wanted to sing a solo. He knew I had a good reading voice, and asked me to read the words. They have been with me ever since. When I visited my daughter's church in the UK, before COVID-19 struck, the musicians played and sang the hymn beautifully. At the end of the service one of the leaders came and sat next to me and asked, "Why are you crying Steve?" I told him how much the words meant to me, they are a gospel in miniature, and then he asked me to tell the whole church. I can't help but cry every time I hear the hymn. Jesus is everything to those who believe on His name.

Poor, poor you, Richard Came across this today - Father's day. I never had a son, but do have a daughter. We may want to insist that "we had it tough", but the young generations have a lot to contend with. The world is upisde down, but at least it is made crystal clear to us. I remember the deep and sudden emotional reaction that I had to it, especially the last verse “Whatever befall, still be my Vision oh Ruler of all”. One time, maybe six years ago I had hit bottom, I believed in nothing except a bottle of whisky, But I would pass a cowboy church twice a day and for some reason it drew me. One night I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling and hoping for the sleep that wouldn't come. For some reason I said, "Hello God, You don't know me, I'm a sinner! Don't know how long I confessed my sins to others and myself and asked for his forgiveness but I got the best night sleep I'd had since I was a kid. The next Sunday I was in the cowboy church and began attending. Then came that day I went up to pray and felt an arm come around my shoulder and I knew Jesus had accepted me. I first heard this sometime after I spoke to God and it seems to fit me and what God and Jesus have done for me. God Bless
